What if you don t want to go to heaven?

What if a person decided that he wants to be justified by Jesus, but still wanted to go to hell? would that be possible? Could God destroy something that is declared as innocent as his own son?

God's destruction of the wicked by His right hand (Psalm 63:9-11) is His last act of mercy towards them. They would not be happy in heaven.

Everyone gets "justified" at the second coming, for the good and the bad. And the innocent? Upon seeing the the face of God, do you really think they would choose hell?

God won't force anyone to be in heaven who doesn't really want to be there. Like Gerry said, they'd be miserable in heaven, and God fully intends one day to end all misery.

Doesn't Romans 5:9 tells us that we were justified by faith - by the blood of Christ during His Atonement? The Second Coming merely recognizes the choices we have already been sealed with.

Wouldn't it be more merciful just to leave them dead? Why wake them up just to torture them some more?

Torture them mentally be showing them what they have missed out on, then torturing them physically by slowly burning them to death - some, apparently, more slowly than others.

Psalm 66:3 tells us that the enemies of God will submit themselves to Him, on the day that "every knee shall bow" (Isaiah 45:23). Those who have lived and believed the lie about God will acknowledge the truth on That Day. This is needed. Why?

Because evil had a beginning. It was not always around. Thus it must have a full & complete end. The wicked receive what they have chosen - Life without Him.

Why do they need to be resurrected just to be tortured?

After all, they are already dead and separated from Him. Why not just leave them there?

There are different reasons:

1. God wants all created beings to have their questions answered and to understand what is going on and all to choose that God's will is the best way and they want to live in that way, or that God's way is the best way and that they do not want to live in that way. And they had questions in their life and about life. God will give them at least a moment of satisfaction in understanding these things.

2. Satan and the Demons also need to understand. They have been so busy playing with evil but have no idea as to what they are playing with. God understands evil completely and wants nothing to do with it. A bit part of Santification is for us to become experts in evil, and while our finite minds will never understand it as well as God did intelectually since time eternal and to such a depth that Jesus expirenced in the passion, we too will know it well enough to avoid it. The thousand years gives the demons and satan a pause where they have no other choice but to look at what they are doing. They will be horrified. Now I'm speculating, but I would not be surprised if they then say "I wish I could have another chance" and when the lost are raised, Satan and the demons realize how horrible a habit evil became as they have in a sense another chance but fall back to their old habits.

3. If you do a deep study into "hell fire" you find out that it is nothing else but the physical, visable pressence of God. God is treating everyone the same, it is the characters that we developed that makes God's pressence heaven or a consuming fire. Jesus is our deepest desire. We all want to be with and like Jesus. Despite God's glory being so over powering that it seems like a consuming fire we who choose to yeald to the beauty of Jesus will come and thrive in that fire. The lost are stuck in a limbo of finding Jesus their deepest desire, but refusing to yeald to the Holy Spirit's pleading. They are attracted to Jesus, but fears that Jesus will get them for their sins. They are unforgiving people and cannot fatham God's forgiveness. They see loved ones they want to be with, but they also remember how they took advantage of or tried to control their loved ones and realize part of them would still do that to them and they realize that the blazing eyes of Jesus can see the deepest darkest secrets of their hearts, thus they want to pull away, but yet their deepest desire is to be like and with Jesus. The desire for Jesus is stronger than the most powerful magnet on steel, but that love will not force, they have to choose to yeald and they refuse to yeald. They want to come but they refuse to come. The horror of hell is not some type of divine spanking, but the horror of seeing the one altogether lovely, the one they long to be with but refusing to come to him. The horror of hell is loosing Jesus. God is showing no difference in how God is treating us. We are all in heaven, it's just that for some of us it is hell to be in heaven and to be forced to live there forever would drive them insane.

4. The Holy Spirit does not like to give up even in a lost cause. This gives the lost a chance to really see fully what God has to offer and to have a final "I want nothing to do with it."

There may be more reasons but these are 4 very important ones, a less important but interesting reason is:

5. God wants us to enjoy life the best we can as long as it does not harm others. Sadly there are people who have learned to relish holding a gruge and focusing on the negative. Ever meet people who you'd wonder if they could be happy if they were happy? While it is not the joy that God wishes to enjoy with them, it is at least a last chance to enjoy their misery for as long as they wish.
