Guest truthseeker007 Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 I am in my twenties. Is that a normal age for having a midlife crisis? I feel like i ve seen enough in this world and i feel very old. I feel more comfortable with the elders than the young people. Anyone has ever had a midlife crisis? Quote
cricket Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 I've felt more comfortable with elders than people of my own age since the day I was born. That, for me, has nothing to do with a mid-life crisis. But rather, having intelligent, stimulating conversation without all the peer-pressure that often gets in the way. But I will say that if it's "normal" for people in your family to live only into their forties, then it's perfectly normal for you to have a mid-life crisis in your twenties. Quote

Hmmzz i think it is better not to tell this to my life insurance company... Quote

Amelia Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 LOL No it makes you go out and buy a really expensive toy that has no practical purpose. Stan Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 I have been in a midlife crisis since I turned 40. It just gets worse every year. I had a major one the first time I turned 70, was thankful for the optional rollback. Dr. Shane Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Quote: it makes you go out and buy a really expensive toy that has no practical purpose. I wonder how connected mid-life crisis' are to unmet childhood needs. So much of our adult lives are about recovering from our childhoods. When our childhood needs were not met, we try to meet those needs as an adult. An example is that as a teenager we needed to be accepted but instead we may have been rejected, neglected or ignored. We coveted the acceptance the popular kids in school seemed to have and thus we coveted the "things" they had which seemed to us to cause them to be accepted. Once we become adults and enter into our crisis, we buy those things (aka needs) we never had when we were children. The answer seems to find wholeness in a relationship with Christ. Easier said than done. It is a process. As we grow in our trust and comfort with Christ we see less need for material possessions to fill us emotionally. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Forgive me for this wild shot, but just to make sure it is ruled out, you might want to take a depression screening test. You can get one in the internet. Gerry Quote
