Ooh! For category one I submit John317! By and far his avatar is not only "best" but it is truly a work of art! I love that picture of him.

As for category two, I'm kind of partial to mine (sorry Ames). Doctor Who is my all-time favorite television program.

A few weeks ago I thought I would change my Avatar but could not find a way to do so. I just checked again and no luck. Why do I not seem to have that ability? Or am I just missing it?

Redwood, you should be able to change your avatar by going into "MyStuff" and then the "Profile" section. There you will see something similar to the following:

Upload your avatar (Your image must be smaller than 100x148 pixels; .gif, .jpg, .png accepted)

Use a stock avatar.

Change

As long as your avatar is less than 100x148 pixels, it should upload with no problem. For some free avatars, try www.jurko.net. Lots of free stuff to choose from.

Thanks Cricket. I appreciate the help. Problem is ... I feel stupid ... but I just don't see it anywhere in my profile. Could you tell me how far down in the profile it should be?

You have to click on "MyStuff" at the top of the page. It's right next to where you click if you have mail messages waiting for you. Then, when the options pop up, you'll see the "Profile" option. Click on that. Then, at the bottom of that page is the stuff I'd copied a few posts back.

Hope that helps. It's at the bottom of that page. It's not on the actual profile that other people see. Like, if I were to click on your name and read your profile, I wouldn't be able to see it. Only you and the administrators can see the page I'm talking about.

I do not see it anywhere in my profile either. I wanted to change mine and have done so in the past but lately when I went to go do that, I couldn't find it anywhere. I thought it was just cuz I didn't put my contacts in and I was blind. Now I have them in and I still can not see it. I guess I am more blind than I thought?

Yes, makes me feel forum illiterate actually. Not stupid because no one is stupid. Not even the disabled! I work for/with them and it is very awesome and that is why I do not feel stupid. Just very illiterate when it comes to the internet. Thankfully with the help of my son in PUC and the boys that are here, they are helping me along in that. They have taught me SO much about the internet, just not about being forum savvy.

When I went to save something I DID change, it said that the signature line I have had for months is too long! Can you believe that?! Too long and I've had that for a few months!

Yes, remember disabled does not equal stupidity. Stupidity comes from those not wishing to take off the blinders. I have met many many disabled persons who are or can be very intelligent. It was the most rewarding job I have ever had and most likely will ever do. That is why I have stayed in that type of field. It is too rewarding not to stay in it.

Redwood, I noticed that you were able to change your avatar, can you walk me through the process as I can't get mine uploaded so I can use it. I have no place from which to bring it from. It gives me no way of doing it. Just gives me this......

The URL part allows you to upload a picture off the web. So If you see something at another web site, post the url for that pic in that window.

Lil Star, you might want to try to upload your picture to the website, www.tinypic.com This site allows users to upload pictures and it will give the user a URL address to use. You might have to adjust the size prior to uploading it to the tinypic site, however--so that it will fit within the allowable parameters here.
