Stan Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Source Quote: 19/04/2008: Sixteen-year old Habiba Larissa, a student at the Bertoua Adventist College has been found dead. The Bertoua student is said to have been caught with a packet of biscuits stolen from a bakery close to the school. Workers at the Bakery denounced Habiba to the school authorities and also to her father, who ironically is a Senior Inspector of Police in charge of criminal investigation in the East Provincial capital. Humiliated both in school and at home, Habiba came home, left her belongings and immediately moved to a police camp near by where she apparently committed suicide using the belt of her own very school uniform. A suicide note left behind read : "I stole a packet of biscuit, I was put to shame and expelled from school. Life is no longer worth living." The police are currently investigating the death of this girl Quote If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses. https://www.paypal.me/clubadventist Administrator of a few websites like https://adventistdating.com

Guest truthseeker007 Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Sad indeed, i hope she ll make it to heaven. OFten, myself i have experienced those feelings of wanting to commit suicide time and time again. It is because i kept fighting i am still alive. Now i am very thankfull I found the truth. Life is worth living now. When i look into the world i see faked friendliness, fake smiles and egocentric beings with only love for money and entertainment. When i think about that i say to myself, life ain t worth living. But when i think about Jesus, that he is God and came to die for US, his own creation who rejected him, i have hope. Then my eyes are fixed on heavenly things, which makes it bearable for me to carry on. Btw i want to say to everybody here, especially redwood, i ve found out that we don t have to worry about making ourselves perfect, God himself will form us incrementally. Nobody is able to live a Christian life on his own strenght. I ve tried this a long time, it didn t work. But when we are in Christ Jesus, he will change us step by step. We shouldn t worry about salvation anymore if we are honestly looking for the righteousness of Christ. Just let God do all the work, you have to do the will part and respond to the conviction of the holy spirit inside your soul. Quote
Dr. Shane Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 To say the girl had some emotional needs which were not met is an understatement. This underlines the need for Adventists to meet the emotional needs of members. That does not mean we should not rebuke sin. If this girls emotional needs had been met she could have had the emotional well-being to withstand any chastisement for her sin and likely become a better person because of it. I doubt the church's and school's reaction to her sin is what caused her suicide. It is what push her over the edge but there were emotional needs not being met that accumulated in her suicide. Indeed it is said. She probably could have identified who the anti-christ is, which meats are clean and unclean, which day is the sabbath and what happens when a person dies but did not grasp the love of Christ for the sinner. Well said Shane. This is why the saying 'love won another' is so true. The love of God needs to be our focus. God will supply the good works step by step as Seeker says. And by the way ... Thanks Truthseeker for your post. I am so glad to read what you have said. It sounds like you have come to some good conclusions and God has blessed you. I am so happy my prayers for you have been answered. Praise God. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Guest truthseeker007 Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Thanks for your prayers Redwood. I really need them, especially since i have decided to give my whole life in the hands of the lord. Everything i am and everything i become is made by God because he is the one that shapes my character. Jesus died for me, longsuffering as he is and full of grace and love. As long as i am in Jesus satan will not conquer my soul. I welcome all prayers, i really need them. Especially since i have placed myself in a very vulnerable position. I hope God will supply enough water bread, and shelter... Quote
LifeHiscost Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 A suicide note left behind read : "I stole a packet of biscuit, I was put to shame and expelled from school. Life is no longer worth living." Underscoring the need for each of us to be conscious of the individuals around us who may only need a touch, a smile, a thanks, to let them know that the God of love Who loves us, also loves them right where they are. "These things I command you, that ye love one another." John 15:17 KJV Which, BTW, reveals that God's commandments are not demandments but characteristics given by the Holy Spirit to bind the body of Christ together. "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35 NASB Regards! Quote Lift Jesus up!!

Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted April 24, 2008 Members Posted April 24, 2008 Yes, the whole situation with this girl is VERY sad. But take a look, if you will, at how some people are treated on this forum. Misunderstandings and "little" innuendos can have the same effect on some members. Some members are very fragile. But what gets said by an "attacker" when they refer (by name or by mere inference) can have the same effect as what this girl went through. And when the one who is attacked tries to say "but you're wrong! I never did/say/write such and such (or even if they DID), and then says they are leaving the forum or worse yet, are contemplating suicide - and then the attacking member says "see.....just vying for attention".... Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
