Woody Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Quote: "Angels are employed in making crowns for such ones, and upon these star-gemmed crowns will be reflected, with splendor, the light which radiates from the throne of God." EGW 5T 96 I never realized that there was factory work in heaven. But, I'm sure the angels get good fringe benefits. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Neil D Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Like what? Life insurance?....do they need it? Paid leave?.....Leaving what? a job that you enjoy? Is that really work??? Health insurance?....Isn't that what the tree of life is for? dental insurance? ...See Health Insurance.... Dismemberment clause?....."Jesus, Redwood lost an arm from fighting Satan...Could you heal him?" I don't know about you, but I got this gut feeling that there are no benefits to the job in heaven....I know that sounds depressing, but...come on...is it? Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Woody Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 I think the fringe benefit of living in heaven would be worth the employment rules at the factory. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
D. Allan Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 It's something to think about. They must be huge crowns to be studded with stars. Most stars are millions of miles apart. Just think what would happen if they were too close together. It would be a situation of great gravity, to say the least. [Of course, maybe she is just speaking figuratively, not literally.] Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
Woody Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 Quote: [Of course, maybe she is just speaking figuratively, not literally.] Oh dAb ... you spoil my fun. You are just like my wife. We were reading the Testimonies together and came across this quote. I quickly objected. ( I am the literal one in case you haven't figured that out.) My wife had to calm me down and explain it to me. I am just too literally focused. This is why my wife and I are a good match. She can calm me down and redirct me as needed. But at times it is more fun to read things literally ... don't ya think? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
D. Allan Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 But at times it is more fun to read things literally ... don't ya think? You're right - that is for humor's sake; but if you get serious it can be deleterious for one's mental health to even take Genesis literally! Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

Neil D Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Heaven itself is the benefit. Better an angel in heaven than an angel on earth. Ooh, I dunno....I tend to think that the work down here would be more rewarding for the angels than what is done in heaven....Dontcha think? Jess speculating...not trying to be contrary..... Moderators LynnDel Posted May 31, 2008 Moderators Posted May 31, 2008 Angels on earth are on a mission trip. They love the mission, but they love to get back home and freshen up. That's my take on it, anyway. Quote LD
carolaa Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 I didn't see anything in that quote about there being factories in heaven. Quote
aldona Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 When I read that quote, the image that came to mind was that of jewellers or artisans working in a workshop or studio, rather than a factory. Do you really think that the crowns handed out to the faithful would be mass-produced? Or individually handcrafted with love and care (possibly by our own "guardian angel" who knows our likes and dislikes intimately?) Maybe that's one of the things our "guardian angels" do in their down-time. "Hey, Redwood's asleep now. Neil D Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 I didn't see anything in that quote about there being factories in heaven. What?!?!?? No air pollution????? Why I think I will go sit down somewheres and ponder this new development....A world with no pollution, air, water, ground....something that I am afraid Olger might have a corinary over.....Oops, mea culpa...It's the EPA that he has corinarys over....
