Raphael Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Hai, When someone's being tested by God or undergoing one, is it alright to search for some sort of cheat code to pass or perhaps this cheats are simply an impossibility? Yes, there is advice concerning how to deal with tests, that is to ask God for greatest strength to pass the exam but asides that, are there any other sort of back doors? Can someone being tested somehow undo the test by prayer and instead gain what was to be rewarded? Or should it be someones neighborly petitions that may bring this to pass (since this neighbor is not subjected to the test, freeing him from restrictions..availing this neighbor as the cheat code..)? God bless you, Raphael Quote Test me with thy might but grant me safe passage. Now, who said that?
Administrators Gail Posted June 13, 2008 Administrators Posted June 13, 2008 Even Christ Himself prayed on the night of His arrest that the cup might pass from Him. We can be grateful that He endured!! Although I think it most natural to us humans to want to escape any or all tests that come our way, I'm not sure it may be the best route. Wasn't it King Hezekiah that was sick and prayed to God, and his life was spared for another 15 years? That is one Biblical example that I can think of. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Raphael Posted June 14, 2008 Author Posted June 14, 2008 Thanks Gail. I have also been looking at the God's Promises section here and I feel better now. God bless all, Raphael Quote Test me with thy might but grant me safe passage. Now, who said that?
Administrators Gail Posted June 15, 2008 Administrators Posted June 15, 2008 Thanks Gail. I have also been looking at the God's Promises section here and I feel better now. I'm glad, Raphael! I know of nothing better, to provide hope and comfort Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Raphael Posted July 6, 2008 Author Posted July 6, 2008 Hai, again. Indeed beyond anything or everything concerning the so called path of Christ, its only upon the test phases that the sun seems to hide and one is pressured to the utmost.. I used to react allergically to the strokes of these tests or whatever would you call it. But, perhaps and ofcourse everything is because of God, that is, I was able to come to a point that I never reached where I finally dared myself (out of utter frustaion, I suppose) to say in my heart.. Come Tests and try me at your sheerest might.. I was willing to accept anything, whatever it was.. the thought of death naturally crosses ones mind but then what was it compared to the strangling adversities one had to face.. it was funny because it never occured to my mind to do that in that manner, though I had done that on other things off and on. Plus I made up a new prayer asking and stating that "God you may test me in any manner.. the hardest or the longest or whatever, as long as you guarantee that I pass this tests with the greatest convenience." Sounds like cheating, right? But then I remembered God posing as King, Judge, Lamb, Mediator, Creator and creation. One could easily dismissed God to be playing foul, playing both fields of the game... but then that's another subject which I believe most have already understood. Anyway you may try that request and as usual feel the differences it creates for proper appreciation. And naturally add to one's mindset to persevere. I had mishaps or what you would call tests but then after that I experienced growth jobwise and etc. But then those disagreeable events grew from days to months.. haha but fortunately it brought out new knowledge and ofcourse a great outcome (that's never been doubted, it was just the pain and terible discomfort that haunts). Anyway it is good to be adventurous, making a great risk taker out of people. In banking and finance, risks are always equivalent to gain. I believe the same applies to any discipline. Oh, yes, it is best for one to check whether he or she is being test or in a test else, one would be guessing in the dark. Best, Raphael Quote Test me with thy might but grant me safe passage. Now, who said that?
