Moderators Bravus Posted June 24, 2008 Moderators Posted June 24, 2008 (not sure whether I’m allowed to post this, but presumably any publicity is good publicity, and they can always tell me to cease and desist) First of a series of 3 junior high science textbooks, but my third publication (after ‘Weaving Narrative Nets’ and ‘Undead Theories’). Woody Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 I can't speak for the book Bravus ... but you did a great job on the cover. Very appealing. A naked man will always sell books to the 'fairer sex'. Dr. Shane Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 I always heard textbook authors made tons of money. For your sake, Bravus, I hope there is some truth to that. Moderators Bravus Posted June 24, 2008 Author Moderators Posted June 24, 2008 Well, yah know, when you take all the skin off (except, for some reason best known to the illustrators, the nipple) the fat goes with it, so yeah, I guess it *could* be a self-portrait. The fact that the brain is bigger than the chest cavity provides some corroboration. It should be on Amazon pretty soon, Stan, and Books 2 and 3 of the series should follow in fairly short order. I think they're pretty good, in that they cover the science in appropriate depth, and look *amazing* with the choice of pictures and the way they're used, but also we (a) took school science (which often finishes in the late 19th century) into the 21st century with discussion of bird flu and dark energy and ( added more discussion of the nature of science, technology and the ways in which science and society interact.
