CGMedley Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 A tornado has completely demolished an Adventist Church in Southwestern Missouri. Get the latest update here. http://www.adventistreview.org/article.php?id=1945 Quote
Woody Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Is this the wrath of God ? Another Battle Creek? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators LynnDel Posted June 28, 2008 Moderators Posted June 28, 2008 Neosho another Battle Creek? What have you been smoking, Redwood? Don't you think we have to be careful about calling natural disasters the wrath of God being poured out on a particular individual or group because of their wicked ways? Look at all the flooding and tornadoes that happen in the Midwest, over and over again, while San Francisco basks in the sunlight (albeit smoky sunlight at the moment). Does that mean the Midwest is more wicked than SF? What it comes down to is that we all suffer because this world is a sinful place. God grants us grace, peace, and power to live here and be a positive influence by letting Him live in us. In the meanwhile, do you ever imagine as you go over the Golden Gate Bridge, or on the BART train under the San Francisco Bay, that today might be the day of the Big One? Quote LD
Woody Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Good comments LynnDel . I agree with you. But I had to say something to get the conversation goin. I guess I would ask you ... why didn't God answer the prayers of protection for this church. If the church had been saved it would have been "God's will". But since it was lost then we say it was just a "natural disaster". I'm just throwin out the questions .... don't shoot the messager !! Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Norman Byers, N.D. Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 At that time some people were there who told Jesus about the Galileans whom Pilate had killed while they were offering sacrifices to God. Jesus answered them, "Because those Galileans were killed in that way, do you think it proves that they were worse sinners than all other Galileans? No indeed! And I tell you that if you do not turn from your sins, you will all die as they did. What about those eighteen people in Siloam who were killed when the tower fell on them? Do you suppose this proves that they were worse than all the other people living in Jerusalem? No indeed! And I tell you that if you do not turn from your sins, you will all die as they did." Luke 13:1-5 Quote The unconditional pardon of sin never has been, and never will be. PP 522
Beryl Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Good reply, Norman. Any significance in that it was post 1844? Now, where would that path lead us? (Just joking!!) God bless, Beryl Quote "Grace is God doing for us, in us and through us that which He requires of us but which is impossible for us to do in or for ourselves." But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12:9.
