Robert Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Why is the Christian walk so easily beset? To me the answer is obvious: While God requires our permission to defeat our human nature, our human nature doesn't ask permission when preying upon our minds. Human nature is selfish - it wants what it sees. Therefore it is natural to sin because human nature always justifies and always deceives. It is a force that can't be beat by the human will. Only God can defeat the flesh when we are tempted. So the problem is surrender. That's why Christian living is a struggle...that's why it is hard. Rob Quote
Administrators Gail Posted June 29, 2008 Administrators Posted June 29, 2008 Just read this the other day, that self is never satisfied. That has to be some motivation to stay close to God. When living for self, the search will never be over. Contentment will never come. Only God gives that peace that passes understanding. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
