Woody Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Why do you list being divorced as one of your hobbies? This leads me to another question .... How often do you perform your hobby? And ... How does one improve his skills and performance in this hobby. Having been divorced myself ... I am anxious to know how one would turn this into a hobby and what the results would be. Looking forward to hearing your perspective on this 'hobby'. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators Nan Posted July 5, 2008 Moderators Posted July 5, 2008 Perhaps you are asking the wrong person if you want an authoritative answer .....have you tried Ms Taylor - it is a bit late for Ms Gabor. But like you, I have been there myself too and will be interested in Neeil's response. And I guess hobbies do not have to be permanent. Quote
carolaa Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 That is something a person could do just once and enjoy the results for a very long time. Quote
Woody Posted July 6, 2008 Author Posted July 6, 2008 That is something a person could do just once and enjoy the results for a very long time. I thought a hobby was something you did more than once. Help us out here Neil ... How are ya goin to get out of this one? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Your computer may list as my being divorced as a "hobby", but my computer lists one of my interests as "Interests: (up to 200 characters) "...Since my divorce, I have been interested in those who were divorced and what thier circumstances were. Of course, since my divorce is still somewhat painful, and but rememberance is not as tearful as it once was, I can commmizerate with other divorcees and attempt to understand them and thier situation... So now you understand that 'divorced" is more of an interest and not a hobby...having that as a hobby tends to give some, such as yerself, the impression that I am more interested in getting married AND divorced....Trust me, I am NOT interested in getting married at the moment.... Neil D Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Having given this more thought I thought I might just give this another go around..... To reflect on your question, you want to know how I can practice my 'hobby' of being divorced....While I have given you the truethfull answer, I think it only fair that one embellish upon this question and excercise the mind a bit...a kind of 'thinking outside the box' comes to mind... ...Well, I think that it is time to confess something here...since confession is good for the soul, and since the political forum is repleat with comments that this country needs to wallin/fence in our borders, a recent oppertunity came open to those who were willing to exploit it. Since there is this influx of immigrants who desire to come to the US, and since the US is desireous of beautiful people [especially the ladies], I have made myself available for quick marriages [and divorces] for foriegners who want to stay in the US. This allows for many oppertunities and benefits for all people. For a nominal fee, the prospect of marrying a foriegner of the United States of America for an extreemly short time, and become single again to find and pursue true intrestests within the borders of the US is available ONLY by passing rigorious standards of decorum and economy. The standards imposed are ones that all americans will agree with , as only beautiful will be allowed or those of the the very wealthy. America need all the wealth and energy that these new euntraupanuers [sp] will bring to the US economy. America needs beautiful people as clearly, the stress that our current president has placed onus is truely causing worry lines and the uglifacation of our fair people. This uglication and stress lines will instantly disappear once the singles meet. Ever seen how stress melts when one sees someone they think they are in love with?? A resurgence in Love can occure when many of these youthful beautiful wealthy people meet with our down trodden sadden slightly econonically challenged people and thus a more beautiful world is created with the wealth to support it. Perhaps even our Aussie friends might reconsider once the new phenomona occurs... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
LifeHiscost Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Trust me, I am NOT interested in getting married at the moment.... And having suffered through a divorce myself, I would suggest you have no anticipation for another, as some who haven't been through one might believe. "For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the LORD of hosts. “ Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously." Malachi 2:16 NKJV It appears the Lord gains no pleasure in it either. Regards! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Moderators Nan Posted July 8, 2008 Moderators Posted July 8, 2008 I am trying to work out what the Aussie friends are going to reconsider - perhaps that is only because I am just home from a long day at work! Recovery from a divorce can certainly be a slow process - I think the main need is to reestablish yourself as a whole person. So I can understand that Neil is not interested in a long term marriage at this stage, I guess these immigration money earner ones would not count as you would not really have time to get to know the people !!!! Woody Posted July 10, 2008 Author Posted July 10, 2008 Amelia .... That would definately qualify as a 'hobby'. In my book anyway .... I would have to check with Neil to see if it is approved. But when I look under your profile ... is says that being divorced is your #1 hobby. What to think? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won.
