Moderators John317 Posted July 12, 2008 Moderators Posted July 12, 2008 There was once a man who liked speeding on the highways. The cops gave him a ticket. A very wealthy man paid for his ticket. The next day the man was back in the judges court. The judge asked, "Aren't you the same man who was in my court yesterday?" "Yes, I sure am, your honor," the man replied. He was smiling. "Well," the judge said, "I'm going to raise your bail to twice the cost." The speeder did not look worried. About then the wealthy man stepped up and paid the bail like he had the last time. Now the same thing went on for weeks. Every day the man violated the law and his bail was paid for by the rich man. Obviously the speedster wasn't learning anything but was just using the rich man to violate the law. The rich man was part of the problem, not part of any solution, wasn't he? Is that what God's plan of salvation is like? Many think so. Just know the right person and you can go on living the same as you did before. No problem. Just make sure you know the rich man who will pay the price so you can go out and continue violating the law without your works getting what they deserve. That's great news. Right? Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

It is a sealing. But honestly ... I'll cross that bridge when I get there. God WILL provide. Friend, the day of crossing that bridge is TODAY! While God is/will always be ready to forgive anyone who repents and turns to Him in faith, that one can keep on sinning because God will always forgive is a very dangerous notion. "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness,...." Heb 3:7,8. No one is guaranteed tomorrow. We only have today for sure. rush4hire Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Paul gives this big drama where it's like he's struggling with covetousness: Quote: [color:#BF0000] 7:7 What shall we say then? [is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. 7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin [was] dead. 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 7:10 And the commandment, which [was ordained] to life, I found [to be] unto death. 7:11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew [me]. 7:12 Wherefore the law [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 7:13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that [it is] good. 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but [how] to perform that which is good I find not. 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Jesus said: Quote: [color:#BF0000]Matt. 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak. Of course that wasn't a sin, but we might use this verse. These verses are to glorify God for His grace and mercy. It's not for us to take them and justify a decision to continue in sin. If you do that, you're in trouble. And if you say that Jesus does not give victory over all known sin, then you preach the doctrine of anti-Christ: Quote: [color:#BF0000]2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. It's important to understand Jesus had our flesh because He condemned sin in the flesh: Quote: [color:#BF0000]Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. If He condemned sin in our flesh, then we have no excuse, and it is our duty to overcome sin by any means necessary. If you refuse to do what it takes to overcome sin, then you will be committing willful sin: Quote: [color:#BF0000]Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? According to this, if you despise the grace of Christ, your punishment will be worse than being stoned to death. Quote: [color:#BF0000]Num. 15:28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him. 15:30 But the soul that doeth [ought] presumptuously, [whether he be] born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 15:31 Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity [shall be] upon him. We are talking about sin, which is breaking God's law, not about eating potato chips or something that's not really a sin. Please take this well. God bless! Quote I cant make a sig with 30 chrs
Woody Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 Quote: If you refuse to do what it takes to overcome sin, then you will be committing willful sin: We ALL commit 'willful' sin each and every day. Praise God ... he continues to forgive us our 'willful' sin and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. There is NO excuse for sin in our lives. We have the means through Christ to not sin. Therefore .... since we don't avail ourselves of that means ... we willfully sin. And God 'willfully' forgives. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Here is willful in the dictionary. It shows that not all sins are willful sins just as not all crime is willful. Study the following carefully: Vandalism: Consists of the willful destruction, or defacement "Intent in law is the planning and desire to perform an act, to fail to do so (i.e. an omission) or to achieve a state of affairs." "Willful Murder and Non Negligent Manslaughter: The willful (non-negligent) killing of one human being by another." Arson: Any willful burning or attempt to burn a building, motor vehicle, aircraft, or personal property of another. "Homicide: Includes willful murder and aggravated murder." Moderators Gerr Posted July 15, 2008 Moderators Posted July 15, 2008 The subject of deliberate/willful/intentional/in-your-face kind of sinning has been discussed a number of times before. Redwood continues to insist that ALL sins & crimes are willful. I find it futile to dialogue with one who refuses to see. Gerry Quote
