Moderators Bravus Posted July 23, 2008 Moderators Posted July 23, 2008 Oh wait, if being a 'brute' means still enjoying sex after all the children are conceived, can I change my answer? Gotta remember that this was written prior to easy access to birth control, so there were definite issues of the number of children a woman had... Quote Truth is important

Amelia Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I think we also need to remember that in earlier times women were taught to basically "grin and bear it" when the husband wanted sex. There was no joy to be had on the womans part. So men would indeed be considered brutes for wanting something that woman looked upon as a chore.
