Guest truthseeker007 Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 some 4000 years ago there was a farmer in Israel. His name is suffia, meaning he was willing to suffer mountains for the Lord if necessary. Everday he taught his children how to live righteously in the ways of the Lord. Everyday he tried to follow Gods prescriptions as good as possible. Untill one day when one of his children got sick. In the land of Israel it was very cold at night. On a sabbath day the child got very weak and now the Suffia was caught in a dillemma because he needed to keep his child warm. Should he obey the law of God legalistically, or should he trust God s willingness and ability to read his heart, knowing that he truly loves God? He decided to follow his heart and gathered some sticks for his son. Then all of a sudden he was surrounded by accusers. What shall be the penalty for this sin? God replied, "he shall surely be put to death". And just when the people were about to stone him he got on his knees and asked God for forgiveness. However got was drunk of anger and refused to listen. Suffia cried tears when he died, knowing that his child would die also. The one that was supposed to love him, killed him... Now if it was a fact that this story happened this way, would you agree with me on the fact that God is not love, but instead a tyrant? And if you believe that you blindly have to trust God in this matter, where did you receive your trust from? Seriously, these are questions i think a lot of people ignore... Quote
Amelia Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 I'm not familiar with that story. Where in the bible is it? Neil D Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 First off...I have seen a lot of heart ache.... I have seen a thorasic surgeon take his son, who had been shot in the chest, to the hospital, and have fellow surgeons work on him, and then when THEY could not save him, he himself worked on his son, until the father knew beyond all reasonable doubt that he could not save his son..... I have seen the results of two young children play with a gun...because I worked on the one child who was shot, and died and saw the other boy in the hospital hopeing against hope that the other boy would survive. I have seen great hope and comfort given as well.... What you are describing is a legalistic diety that satan wants you to attribute to the Almighty. But God is bigger than that...You haven't been able to fathom just how big God is or what He is capable of doing...What you want to do, is accuse God of being a cheat... You want God to answer you...cuz you want to accuse Him of being something that He is not. I have only one thing to say to you..... you error greatly....because you know not Who you are dealing with.... Guest truthseeker007 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Neil you are actually avoiding my question. If the above story were to be true, do you still believe God deserves honour and glory? Deep inside your heart you know i am right. What you are telling about hope, is a story about 1000s of years of evolution of human character, which seems to be superior to the character of the evil God from the bible. God doesn t care about people suffering otherwise he wouldn t be playing hide and seek, while at the same time there are no people able to find him. I am not going to apologize for my vision of God, because i truly believe it is the right one. It is spiritual suicide to talk about my creator like this, but at least i am responding to my concious. We all know the difference between good and evil sensitively, but at the same time God expect us to refuse these feelings. Why?because he isn t good after all. I really don t care what anybody else thinks of me, not this world, nor God can overrule me on this matter. It is me against the world and all of the universe. Quote

I mean, REALLY asked Him? Down on your knees, pleading with Him to give you the answer? AND REALLY, TRULY wanting to know the answer, being willing to open your heart and mind? really, truly seeking for truth? Have you ever read the Bible right through? Every verse of every chapter, and heard God pleading with the people? Have you ever read the story of the cross? Of what He did in order to allow you to have eternal life? What you are saying is not coming from the God that I know. It is coming direct from the mouth of Satan who is the originator of all evil. God gives us the option, "Choose you this day whom you will serve." And that choice is yours. The devil who has been a liar from the beginning? Or Jesus, Who has given His all in order for you to have the opportunity to live for ever. I pray that you will make the right choice, and will read the story for yourself --HONESTLY.
