I think it's a chilling reminder of my mortality, that I am never more than a few hours from that grisly implosion of a death known as starvation. No matter how much I eat, before long the cravings resurface, and the withdrawal symptoms ravage my innards. "I am Snook Draddots," I would say, were my name actually Snook Draddots, "and I am a food addict." It's a sad story, but it's true. I was a food baby, in fact. My mother was using when she was pregnant with me. I've been on food ever since. It's wrecked my life. For my first fifteen years, I experienced rapid weight gain, and the digestive symptoms that persist to this day are too unpleasant to discuss. I've been unable to quit. The patch -- where you duct tape some potato salad to your arm every morning -- doesn't help at all. One time I had a 16 hour flight across the Pacific, during which time I ate nothing that could be remotely described as food, but I fell off the wagon shortly after landing. But enough is enough. I've come to an epiphany about just how much I've let food run my life for me, and it's time for that to stop. No more food for me. I'm quitting food cold turkey. I guess if it's that type of addiction, it's ok to have that type....as far as those type of addictions go.... But what I was trying to tell Redwood, was that I was addicted to food....You see, he's made the committment to go down that road that most closet liberals choose to do, and in his mock conservative republican-ness, he is feel forced to go into the illegal drug trade [or do what most silly committed ubber conservative republicans do and try to make a few fast illegal bucks]. Since the public stigma of being a drug traffiker is associated with ubber liberal-ness, I think we can conclusively state with utter conviction that Redwood is a closet liberal just waiting to come out..... all this, with the evidence of the poppy seeds that he is obviously trying to sell to some unsuspecting liberal college student awaiting the ripeness of his poppy seeds... We were just curious to see how they were coming and so I can now report that the seeds are doing well . We expect a good harvest. rush4hire Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 The advice I read from Ellen White is to discipline yourself to eat only the most nutritious foods, not refined foods, especially refined sugar and refined flour. Those are what gives you diabetes. If you get used to only the most wholesome and natural foods, and you still eat too much, the advice is to get lots and lots of exercise.
