Moderators John317 Posted August 4, 2008 Moderators Posted August 4, 2008 Great shot. I've seen it before, but each time I see it, I am tempted to believe it is imaginary. Is that Rocky Marciano? Who's the poor guy on the wrong end of that damaging right hook? Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
olger Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 That's a real photo, that was cleaned up to remove scratches. The recipient of the devastating right is Jersey Joe Walcot who lost the title with that lone shot in the thirteenth. Off to the right is referree Ruby Goldstein. This photograph was taken by photographer Herb Scharfman at the end of the Walcott-Rocky fight. That punch is still regarded as the most devastating right ever thrown in a boxing ring. Marciano went on to become the only undefeated heavyweight champion in history (49-0). His knockout percentage of 87.75% still stands as the highest of any heavyweight champion.
