Moderators Nan Posted September 20, 2008 Moderators Posted September 20, 2008 Are you an Aussie-phile, Neil? I like Marmite, but actully prefer Promite which unfortunately is made by the opposition. Do the Americans still have something called Savorex, used to flavour cooking? I have heard them compare that to Marmite.... not necessarily favourably. Quote
Moderators LynnDel Posted September 21, 2008 Moderators Posted September 21, 2008 I heard that Savorex was really Marmite, put into a Savorex jar. It is not available any more that I know of. I like: Cilantro - in Mexican dishes and in lentil soup Cumin - for beans and lentils Portobello mushrooms (dried) - flavor for veggie soups and stews Marmite - flavor for gravies Quote LD
Neil D Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Shoot, folks...I just like to eat.... And I don't care if you put marmite, savorex, cumin, or whatever...If it tastes good, I promise to praise the cook and thank God he made you...
