Administrators Gail Posted September 10, 2008 Administrators Posted September 10, 2008 I have been watching the conventions but generally am not interested in politics. Or, I should clarify, I am interested in how laws are made and how matters get brought up and resolved in court or parliament (congress for the States?), but I try to avoid the speculative media stuff. When the smear stuff started about Palin's daughter being pregnant and it became such a big deal, I turned the channel. I would watch more politics on TV if it wasn't for so many people trying to discredit the other team. It's like a shark attack! Does anyone else think that character assassination is distastedful, besides being just wrong? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Moderators John317 Posted September 10, 2008 Moderators Posted September 10, 2008 I agree with you. The candidates' views and their activities are supposed to be examined and discussed, but not their children. That's my own opinion. I have always been very interested in government and politics, but I like to keep it away from families and instead concentrate on the issues, the candidates themselves, their speeches, interviews, writings, etc. That is appropriate. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
