Woody Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Today Tennessee Representative Steve Cohen an Obama supporter ... directly compared Obama to Jesus and then said that it was a 'governor' that put him away and mentioned Pilate. This was said on the floor of the House. Is this the kind of change that Obama represents? First he calls Sarah a pig and now his supporters are linking him to Jesus? And Sarah to Pilate. This is the worst presidential campaign that I've witnessed in my lifetime. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Dr. Shane Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I saw this. He said Jesus was a community organizer like Obama and Pilate was a governor. We expect this kind of swiftboat attacks from the radical extreames but from a congressman? I would expect elected Democrats not to be saying such things. We have seen similar attacks against Obama but not by elected Republicans that I am aware of. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
olger Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." og Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Woody Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 Yes Olger ... this is a concern. And Shane ... what made it worse ... is that the statement is in the record books because it was said on record on the floor of the House. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Kountzer Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I don't see anyone in this election as a Jesus figure. They're all a bunch of chump time politicians: obama, mccain, et al. They all will kow tow to the will of the vatican. If persecution of a relatively obscure religious group (sda)means political popularity, I can see both camps doing so. I don't see prophecy being played out by either side. Quote I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. Frederick Douglass

Sex, money fraud, murder, you name it. You are referring to the u.s. congress? pleaaase. Quote I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. Frederick Douglass
Woody Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 I would agree with this assessment regarding the Democratic ones. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted September 11, 2008 Moderators Posted September 11, 2008 First he calls Sarah a pig and now his supporters are linking him to Jesus? That's a bald-faced lie. Obama never called Palin a pig. Check it out for yourself on Google. In fact, that phrase ["like lipstick on a pig"] has been around for years in the political campaigning process. Even McCain used it himself, against Hillary. And McCain was never accused of being sexist when he used that expression against Hillary. www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/sep/09/obama-lipstick-pig-comment-wasnt-reference-palin/ Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....
Woody Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 Context. Context. Sarah had just used this phrase ... and that is whom Obama was addressing it to. The crowd knew this. Most people know this. Now Obama is trying to cover up his tracks because he made a mistake. Good minds can disagree. Did you hear his say this in the original tape. I did. I will not call you a liar since you disagree with me. But I honestly in my heart of hearts ... know what I say to be true. I am not trying to be a liar. I hope you can accept this. carolaa Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 No, Sarah had not just used the phrase. Quote
Woody Posted September 11, 2008 Author Posted September 11, 2008 Sorry . She used the idea of lipstick. And Obama was directing this at her since she used the 'word' lipstick ... then. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
