Still really even, too close to call at this time. I expect Obama to be out in front for a while again.

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

Saturday, September 13, 2008

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows John McCain with 49% of the vote while Barack Obama attracts support from 46%. That is unchanged from yesterday and a complete reversal over the past week. Last Saturday, before McCain’s convention bounce had its full impact, Obama was up by three (see recent daily results). New state polling shows McCain up three in Nevada and up five in Missouri.

Yes, I think the debates between McCain and Obama will probably be the determining factor in who finally wins. The VP debates will be interesting to watch, but they usually are not nearly as important in deciding the winner in the election.

I'll be watching them as I'm you will be too.

Palin did very good in her interview with Charlie Gibson although as I have watch different news agencies reporting on it I start to wonder how they could take away such a different view than what I did. There has been a lot of selective reporting going on. Most reports say she stumbled on foreign policy especially when asked about the Bush doctrine. I thought she did well and Gibson dropped the ball a couple of times.

What?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Shane, YOU do a better job of explaining foriegn policy than she did! and you are loosey at it.

And it was pretty obvious that she was bluffing her way thru that interview with Charlie Gibson....

Where did she make a mistake? Gibson made the mistake of asking about the Bush doctrine which is not anything official and has never been defined. Gibson also made the mistake of not stating that Obama, Biden and McCain all agree that the Ukraine and Georgia should be allowed to join NATO. She did very well. I think she is ready for that 3:00 AM phone call.

The question is ...

What kind of warning would the 3AM message include?

May we be one so that the world may be won.

That's not the 3AM message. I think the conservatives would disagree with you.

That's the only one she would be able to answer.....Remember, she's a soccer mom....

>>...when asked about the Bush doctrine.<<

She appeared to ‘stumble’ because Charley completely and absolutely flubbed his concept of what constituted “the” Bush doctrine. In fact, there are minimally, four Bush doctrines. Charley, certain of his facts, melodramatically rolled his eyes and otherwise attempted to convey that she was (as some of our own list are wont to do) unknowledgeable. Sheesh! give us a break, Charley! Other than a few attempts at gotcha! journalism, Charley was okay.

Aren’t you (and other screamers) the self-anointed arbiter of civility? I can’t think of anything lower than the self-righteous casting aspersion upon a minor deserving an adult’s discretion vis-à-vis good taste.

Lipstick joke, yes?

Tracking polls are all right, as far as they go; however, of much greater importance may be what are referred-to as the ‘internals’.

Of greater significance than the usual seaboard to seaboard poll might be the breakdown of the States that would swing the Electoral votes, etc...
