Lineman Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Hi everyone, I am new here. In fact, it even took me a little time just to find out how to create a new topic. I just wanted to share a website I have been working on for several years that I hope you will find interesting enough to share with others. Bible Timelines Online (www.bibletimelines.org) is a collection of over 20 timelines. Some of these, but not all, are interactive meaning that you can click on an event and additional information will be displayed below the timeline. The Gospel Timeline is an attempt to put the gospel into a timeline format. It tries to cover the entire Bible from the beginning of sin to the end of sin. All the other timelines fall inside of that timeline someplace. For an example of how these timelines were designed to work let's look at the Ministry of Jesus Timeline. As you look over the timeline you find the place where Jesus walked on the water and you want to read about that. Clicking on that event on the timeline brings up all the places in the 4 gospels that speak of that event. Below that listing you will find the chapter(s) in the Desire of Ages where EGW speaks of this event. (This timeline is based on information found in the SDA Bible Commentary.) There are nine EGW books on this site in all and many are linked in this way. The others can be found in several places: on the Bible Commentary page (where all 5 books of the Conflict series are found) and on the Steps to Jesus page where Steps to Christ can be found, etc. This site was designed with the idea of sharing the Adventist message without using the Seventh-day Adventist name anyplace. (The only place the name Adventist is found is in the Great Controversy where EGW is talking about those who were waiting for the return of Christ, adventists from several different denominations.) You should be able to use this site to share the SDA message of the gospel with Christians of all faiths and even with non-Christians. (You will not find the name "Ellen White" or my name anywhere either. This site is about God's love, not about us.) The timelines themselves are placed into 3 catagories: History, Prophecy & Principles. There are two other catagories, one called Non-Timeline Topics and another catagory was created so that all of the PowerPoint presentations and that type of thing can be found in one area. I cannot say that there aren't mistakes, but if you find one please let me know and I will try to fix it as soon as possible. (You can contact me through the "Contact Us" link on the site.) Blessings. Quote Visit and Share the BibleTimelines.com URL ! (Explain the Gospel in just a few minutes, or maybe even seconds.)
Moderators John317 Posted September 15, 2008 Moderators Posted September 15, 2008 Looks outstanding, Lineman. Thanks for posting. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Liz Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I only looked at a couple of things. It looks amazing!!!! carolaa Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 That's cool. I'm particularly interested in the time between Creation and the Flood. Do you have anything for that time period? Quote
Lineman Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 Thanks for all your kind words. There is a little information for the time between Creation and the Flood on the People and Events Timeline (http://www.bibletimelines.org/framedpeople.html), but that's all I have right now. Has anyone had time to view any of the presentations yet? I would encourage you to view each of the Creation Nuggets and "The Universe" at least. (Try to use the PowerPoint versions if you can.) Blessings Quote Visit and Share the BibleTimelines.com URL ! (Explain the Gospel in just a few minutes, or maybe even seconds.)

Lineman Posted September 22, 2008 Author Posted September 22, 2008 Thanks for the new chart. I quickly looked it over and have saved it to my HD. And thanks for the link. I'll try to take a look at that before long too. Time for work, Dan Visit www.bibletimelines.org and share your faith through email. Quote Visit and Share the BibleTimelines.com URL ! Lineman Posted September 23, 2008 Author Posted September 23, 2008 Hi guys, Last night just before going to sleep I was thinking about how the Bible Timelines site could be used better and it dawned on me that if each of us were to send an email about BTO to everyone in our address books we could be sharing God's love much faster and farther than we do now. You are online, so it appears that you enjoy working with your computer and because you are here at Club Adventist and not somewhere else online it appears that you love the Lord and love to talk about Him, so why not use your computer to tell others about how much God really loves them? Tell them about what He has already done, about what He is doing right now and about what He is soon to do for them? Here's my suggestion: First, visit www.BibleTimelines.ORG and find something you can get excited about. (I would suggest taking a look at the short Creation Nuggets found toward the bottom of the yellow Table of Contents, especially for your non-Christian friends. You will also find a summary of the BTO site later in this post.) Second, copy that URL (the web address for what you find of interest) and paste it into a new email. Then, write a few sentences telling what you found there. (You may want to create two different sets of text, one for SDAs and one for everyone else.) Next, invite everyone to forward this email to everyone in their address book, or at least to all the SDAs. Then send your email message to as many as you can, maybe everyone in your address book. Last, but very important, please copy what you wrote and paste it into this post as a reply so that those of us who have a hard time finding the right words to say can use what you wrote to share God's love too. One more thing, if you have an account on another forum or at someplace like MySpace, tell them about BTO and what you have found there. You love doing things for the Lord and you love working with your computer. Why not do what you love? Just keep in mind that Jesus loves each person you are sending your emails to, so be kind. The rest of us will be watching to see what you've sent and we will be looking for something new we can use in our messages.
