Bible References ---> 2 ---> Quotes (new program)

[rush4hire]

How often do people just paste a Bible reference, or a whole line of them, and you are expected to go look up every one?

Well, those days are over!

With this program, you just highlight the references and hit the hotkey, and the Bible verses will be all on your clipboard, ready to paste.

Example.

Here are some random verses:

Quote:

Mat. 10:14,15; 12:25; Luke 2:4-8,12; 22:10-12; Acts 17:5;

Highlight those and hit F6, and then paste the text.

Quote:

Matt. 10:14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

10:15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

...

12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Luke 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

2:5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

2:6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

...

2:12 And this [shall be] a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

...

22:10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.

22:11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

22:12 And he shall show you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

Acts 17:5 But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

Of course, it also works on just one verse.

In the future, I want to make a GUI with some little bells and whistles. Then it will interact with e-sword and EGW software, so you can cycle through the verses by another hotkey, and it will go to each verse in e-sword or EGW software, so you can see the context.

I guess I will also have to add other versions. Just KJV for now.

I will also put this with the other program I've been using, so if I ever get the funding to package that for the public, then this one will be obsolete, because it will be a feature included with the other program.

Just download this and unzip it and it's ready to go right out of the folder.

Do you have anything for the Mac?

I thought that might come up.

I'm sorry. AutoIt apps don't run on mac. If Mac OS wants to have a special format, then they need to make something that will convert these things to their format. Only mac experts can do that.

I also wish I knew why Mac only uses Intel processors, and never AMD. It makes me suspicious, really.

Oh well. I did find a slight typo. Johah instead of Jonah. That actually caused queries for John, to come out with verses from Jonah.

It was just one letter. I fixed it.

Here's everything you need for an update. It's 200 KB. Just replace the file.

Updated source.

The complete package, which is 1 MB, has also been updated.

Has anyone tried this? It's quite handy sometimes. Is there any program like this in the world? Am I the first one to make it?

Does everyone use Mac these days?
