Healings

Was listening to the Church Channel today. Some guy from a 'healing' type church was promoting the use of healing. He was saying that we should ALL be healed physically.

He said we should each claim it. But if we did that ... wouldn't there be no death? He says it is ALWAYS God's will to heal.

I have to wonder if God no longer makes the decision to heal us physically ... but desires to heal us spiritually instead. This is far more important to Him I have a feeling. The physical part must be show to be a part of the result of being on this earth where suffering is a part of Satan being on this planet. I suspect that he (Satan) wants to afflict those who he fears the most. And he has the authority and right to do so. I don't think that God interfers like He used to.

I think that sin needs to run it's course in order for the Great Controversy to be fulfilled.

I do believe that sin has to run its course. But I do believe that God still heals physical ailments as well as spiritual ones. But I do agree with you that God was us spiritually healed, because this leads to physical healing.

I have thought about this physical healing thing and have wondered why Joseph, (the step dad of Jesus) was allowed to die. Jesus could have healed him so why didn't He?

I do not agree with that preacher's statement that God ALWAYS wants to heal us physically, but I do agree with PK that sin must run its course.

God will ALWAYS heal us spiritually, but not necessarily physically.

I would say that God always WISHES to heal but it isn't ALWAYS in His Will to. In other words, sometimes it is for the greater good to have the affliction than to be healed physically. We may not always see this greater good, but there is that Bible promise that says "All things work for good for those that love Him"; so we just have to have faith that something good will come out of these crucibles.

I am reminded that "God spoke and it was"...From this we get that God is a God of truth....for whatever God says become so...[When was the last time you said "Let there be light" and the light came on...?]

But regarding there must be a lot of wishing on God's part....I don't know...Isn't wishing a form of desire? And if it spoken by God, doesn't it become so?

Alright, so maybe wishing is to limited and to human to apply to GOD. How about, HE desires--oh wait, that is your word and you said it is a form of wishing--HE wants--no wait, that sounds like desires--HE ________ just put your own word there in the blank.

You know GOD didn't want sin, HE made a plan to save us all, when WE chose sin. But it wasn't immediate, it had its own time frame to work through. When Jesus was on Earth during His ministry he would leave entire towns disease free. So in my own limited mind, I do think HE has a wish for us to be healed, it just may not be in His time frame for it to happen yet. We just have to be patient and cling to that promise that All things will work for good, because I do love HIM.

I am late to this thread as I only come on once a week, but Redwood's initial post seems very familiar. One of our assistant pastors is preaching very strongly on healing in the physical sense, saying that God wants all of His children to be healthy and well, and free of physical ailments.

There are those in our congregation who say that they have been healed by the man's praying, and he holds regular seminars on "God's Power Source," or something like that.

I'm not real sure about it, whether I should look at it as a good thing, or something to avoid.

God *does* want us to be healthy physically. He went to a lot of trouble to give us a great big health message so we could be healthy. And I believe there are people who have the gift of healing, and their prayers are powerful. But I don't believe those people are going to be out promoting themselves.

The power of healing is going to be one that the Devil uses during the end times according to EGW as I recall. I think it is one that he can use to confuse the faithful.
