Eventually the topic got around to Sarah Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President. The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle.' Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was. The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle.' The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. 'You know she didn't get up there by herself, she doesn't belong up there, she doesn't know what to do while she is up there, and you just wonder what kind of dim bulb put her up there to begin with. It's not a complimentary term... it's more like the story Tom wrote in the first posting on this thread. fun2believe Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Why call her names at all? Can we just either agree with her and vote Rep. or disagree and vote Dem, and call it good? Or is name calling a necessary part of politics in america? There's also the options of voting 3rd party, as well as not voting at all. But I prefer it most when we can "agree to disagree" or agree together, and treat others as the humans with equal rights that they are. I like the name "post turtle", it sounds funny, but a bit cruel too. Quote
