She did a long rant on Ayers, and the *very next point* she made was 'our opponents are all about looking to the past, but we are all about the future'. To have that come out of your mouth and not recognise the irony of it doesn't suggest that she'd have done so well in brains pageants as she apparently did in beauty pageants. (I find her scary rather than attractive too, but that's not the point I was making.) Quote Truth is important

I figure of he becomes President she will have a shot at it after his tenure is done. The VP always has a shot at the nomination. However I am also thinking that I may not have to have McCain to get Palin. If McCain loses Palin may still be back in 4 or 8 years running for the nomination. It's weirdly plausible: she does have charisma and can read off a teleprompter very naturally, which is not as easy as it looks. And the Fox audience would lap her up. Doesn't preclude a 2012 presidential run, of course, and might even support it. But I really think unless she is willing to face the press in an open press-conference soon and show what she can do, no-one will take her seriously as a presidential candidate. It's odd and unprecedented the way she has been shielded from having to show what she can do in any real, challenging context. Quote Truth is important

I hope whoever it is, they are up to it. Not much time to get ready. I have no doubt McCain is ready. Just before Biden was selected as VP, he said that Obama was not ready to be president.
