That is "Republican discomfort"? I think someone is reading more into the comment than is there.

I think McCain had the cards stacked against him to begin with. President Bush is very unpopular and any Republican would have had an uphill battle. McCain could not energize his base by himself and with his base sitting at home he was sure to lose. Palin has energized his base and expecting her to deliver anything more than that is unrealistic. McCain needed to bring in the independents and she needed to bring in the base. It appears she is doing her part and McCain is the one coming up short.

May I remind you of these words-

Yes, I think we have to expect all kinds of swiftboat attacks on her. She has executive experience which McCain needed on his ticket. She also knows a lot about energy which is a major issue in this year's campaign. She is lacking on foreign policy experience but most every governor is. She does have Russia right off her coast so she probably knows more about them than most governors do.

It looks like we are going to have a real "horse" race now. One wonders how many Hillary voters are really going to take another look at the GOP ticket.

About the swiftboat attacks, I was right. We have seen a lot of them. Some even on this forum. One of the reason I choose to vote for Obama is because I don't want to see hate-filled liberals destroy Palin as VP before she gets a chance to run for President.

Regarding the horse race, at the time I was right. God did not send me any prophetic dreams nor visions so I couldn't see the financial crisis about to hit the nation and world.
