Hi there,

About a month ago I interviewed the MasterCard President of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa in his Singapore office that had a fantastic aerial view of the upcoming F1 night event (that time). At the interview, I could not help myself from being reminded about the stories of the last day events that had been untiringly spun in our churches.

As we all well know, the world has recently evolved from a global economic slowdown to a real possible world recession which has further disastrous affects upon world’s economics and lowered industry growth rates globally. The interesting part was that according to the interview, the payment product industry has never ceased from a double digit figure of growth despite of any major world event (post world wars of-course) and would do so definitely in the continuing future.

I believed this, because it made sense to me, this is a public facility like telecommunications which will always grow especially together with population growth. Upon the case of this card or payment product industry, it would not only be spurred by population explosions but also by the seemingly never ending pursuit of economic growth amongst countries. There are science fiction stories of the third world finally achieving first world economic levels which would only emblazed the payment product industry growth. Though fiction, we now can observe the rapid rise of new developing economic entities such as the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries plus not to mention the rapidly arising economic zones as that of Asia Pacific region which would include numerous countries beyond the mentioned four.

Concluding this story would end upon the intriguing question of “will this whole world finally ‘go plastic’?” The answer is ‘yes’ at a global level but at minor certain distinctive areas of uniqueness the answer would be ‘no’. But these minor geographical areas will be as stated ‘minor’ upon the global scale.

What has this to do with our beloved Adventist Forum? Well, as Adventists, we have heard of one of the challenges of Sabbath keepers during the Sunday law enactment was the inability to do transactions due to this universal code upon the payment product industry product. Well, what has been in a form prophesied may not be evaded but only, perhaps, stalled only.

What do you think of these? These are old stories reminded anew but do you think it will happen in these form of manner?

Not fear, it is love that converts,

There was a post on this forum that included a video by David Gates on this topic -- when I clicked on that sermon - I found that he mentioned this web site www.4hispeople.com and in one of the predictive entries at that site - a national Id card is seen. I think Gates also mentioned the card in his sermon.
