Woody Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 This is not good. It is a big esculation in the war. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 Later ... Whoops. I guess the early report was slightly wrong. I guess we attacked Syria. So, we can calm down. I think that it is not something to be concerned with. We got our man and so the excitement is over. They say that Bush approved the mission. So, I am sure it was needed. But the main issue is ... they shot back. And there needs to be a price to pay for shooting at a US helicopter. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. We attack a soverign country without provocation and you say "It's ok, nothing to worry about. We did the attacking and the only thing we need to do is to make Syria pay for the shooting down for one of our helicopters during a raid into thier country...? Is this convoluted logic or what? Woody Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 What. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Neil D Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 What. Ok, my mistake... I forgot I was speaking to a conservative republican....Let me break it down into simpler terms.... You reported that the US attacked Syria...Syria is a soverign nation. IOWs, we recognise it's right to control the area within it's boarders without interference from ANYONE, including the US or it's allies... When we attack a country without provocation, [and Syria has not provoked the US directly], the US commits to a crime similar to what the Japaneese did at Pearl Harbor. We did not like that happening to us then, why are we doing it now? Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Woody Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 Quote: and Syria has not provoked the US directly Yes they have. If you hide and support terrorists that attacked us on 9-11 then you are 'provoking' us. This is part of the Bush Doctrine. After 9-11 ... Bush outlined his Doctrine ... and Syria heard it. So, they have to play by the new Bush rules or suffer the consequences. In the US ... you have the right of mobility ... that is UNLESS you break the rules and get stopped by the police. They can even come into the privacy of your home. That is what we did ... we went in the privacy of their home because they broke the Bush Doctrine. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Neil D Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Let's see...Bush Doctrine...political consequences.... We attacked Iraq and Afghanistan and now Syria....I can hear our middle east enemies say "Jahad!" and the US is even MORE in danger of a 9/11.......maybe with a nuke this next time...eh?
