As some of you know ... my chair that I pretty much live in ... suffered a fatal disease over the weekend while I was in the chat room. It is called old age.

Yes, It just collapsed while I was chatting. I yelled out for help but those in the chat room were afraid of calling 9-11 for they didn't know where I lived.

I thought I should give an update: My chair is 22 years old and because my dog chewed the little tag off with the ID numbers ... they are going to have a difficult time getting parts and my lifetime guarantee is no longer valid. All because of my dog. Is this fair? I have my receipt but that is not enough.

But, the repairman did give me hope. He thinks that some how he will manage to fix it to some degree. My chair is like my friend. We fit together. I don't want a new one. And besides ... I can't afford the $2500 to buy a new one.

I will have to be on the floor for the next three weeks. The chair doctor says he has other chairs to doctor so I have to get in line.

Just keep me and my chair in your prayers ....

And thanks to the chat room folks for their support during my time of need.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

Oh man, that's tough. Prayers for you and your chair, definitely. Hope the chair doctor has mercy and gets to it sooner.

Yes. He said he would try but could not make any guarantees.

Thanks Bravus.

At least the chair doctor has given you some hope that it can be fixed. That is good news. Hopefully it will be sooner than three weeks.

Thanks you all. There is just not any other place for me to be in my home ... so I am relegated to the floor for now. And Truthseeker ... my chair is what we call a Lazy-Boy recliner chair ... here in the States.

When it collapsed ... the wood just cracked and splintered. I had splinters of wood all over the place. And the screws popped out. I had had this chair repaired previously when the metal mechanism just snapped in half. So, I am hard on chairs. But, I do hope they can repair it so that it will not break.

$2500 for a chair? Are you sure that is not two chairs?

Sorry to hear about the chair -- how is it you are reduced to the floor when not in the chair?

Even so - I pray for a quick replacement for the chair.

Can't you get a loaner for the interim? I have a recliner I'm not using much, and a truck. Let me know.

Sounds like you're resting all your weight on that chair. Someone said that faith is like resting all your weight on Jesus. He won't collapse like your chair did. He can take all of your weight and then some.

Hope you don't have to sit on the floor for long, but if I had to spend that much for a chair, I know where I would be sitting now.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

The $2500 is what it would cost to find a chair that would fit me. I am tall and have a long upper body. They just don't seem to make chairs that fit anymore. The $2500 is not for a Lazy-Boy it is a more expensive brand. Lazy boy doesn't make the Big Man chair like they used to.

I am reduced to the floor because with my muscular disease ... I have to be on a firm surface. That is another reason why it is hard to find a new chair. All the other furniture in our house is too soft. And also ... I can't sit. I have to recline. Even as recent as last winter ... I spent much of my time on the floor even though I had my chair. So, it is not all that bad.

But now I am doing better and like the chair. So, I do look forward to getting it back. Thanks for your good wishes and prayers ...

It is very difficult to fine a chair that fits me. So I doubt that anyone would have one.

Thanks Lynn ...

John ... This is good stuff. Very Good. Thanks. And it's a great way to turn a boring subject into something eternal. Cool.

If you would quit jumping up and down on that chair when someone mentions "Poppies" and "sell", you might have a chair that stays together....

Seriously, sorry about the chair, man...If I was in the area, I might take the time to look it over...But it also might take 3 or 4 months FOR ME to repair it. ...

I think these past few months have been rough on my chair. It had something to do with the poppies and all the stress over the FBI ... Blanche ... and my court date ... I am sure. I have had to jump up and down on my chair after reading your sagas about all this ... more than once. Even a good chair can't take that.

Thanks Neil. You is Cool. Bee Good.

I hope your floor at least has carpet, and is not tile or some other really hard thing.
