Gus Foster Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 May I suggest reading my article "The Third Revelation" which I put on line in 2005. www.ShareGodFact.org It was/is my effort to show God's work in His people to reveal Jesus to the universe through those who give their lives to Jesus. Moderators John317 Posted October 28, 2008 Moderators Posted October 28, 2008 I noticed this sentence: "the Apocrypha was dropped from the Protestant Bible at the Council of Trent (1545-1563)." The KJV of 1611 carried the Apocrypha, or deuterocanonical books, until the printing of 1640. The Council of Trent declared the Apocrypha a part of the official canon. It did not affect Protestants. Luther placed them together between the testaments in his German translation. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Gus Foster Posted November 12, 2008 Author Posted November 12, 2008 That is true, and it is interesting to note which translations today continue to include these books in their printings. One can find several references to some of those writings in Revelation, although many were written in the 2nd and 3rd centuries. My whole ministry, with whatever life I have left, is committed to Jesus' teachings that His life and character are reflected, revealed in the life of His people, especially in the last time of history. This requires a purging, cleansing, regeneration and restoration of Christ's character within His "possession." I am working on a new web-site to this purpose which should be on the net by Dec. '08. The title will be-- www.ChristRevealedInYou.com in all small letters when it comes out---------- Quote Striving for a better relationship with Him! Gus Foster

Could you please give the verses of Revelation that quote the Apocrypha and quote or cite the sources? jasd Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Is the subject - Apocrypha? Jude 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, Jude 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. One asks, was Jude extemporizing from an unattributed source - or quoting from the Apocryphal Book of Enoch...? mebbe others of the Apocrypha, as well? Quote
