delta Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Since these two topics, US Elections and the Unprecedented Economics Collapse, became the major issues right now, I think it's not a coincidence that last sabbath in some few Adventist churches the speakers preached not the same sermons but similar enough. The sermons typically highlighted the comparative study of percentage of participants in US Elections between two groups of citizens: "New Naturalized US citizen" VS "Lifetime US Citizen" In this case, there is no surprise at all that the Naturalized Citizens is one group of citizens that has the highest percentage ever to participate in the election, including this year election, no matter how bad the candidates may be, no matter how stupid of vice presidents (candidates) may be and no matter how bad the systems are....they already came to USA for a better life and they know the USA will be a true choice and has a lot of honey and milk.... ...and finally becoming US Citizens for them after certain years of efforts to be is such a great-wonderful blessing. Sure they gonna be law-abiding citizens. And they have less complaints, of course. Well, now compared to another group of citizens: lifetime or US born Citizens. Though 2008 Election hits a new records of voters, but in the longer terms the tendency is that the lifetime citizens that use their right to vote became less and less, but complaining without advocating any solution becames more and more. (One little clue: You can google yourself about the news about more US citizens vote for 'American Idols' rather than voting for presidential elections) "This scenario is a very good parable for Adventists people in the term of the End time message-just before the coming of the Lord. You see the challenges within our church, and the works that need to be finished, and our readiness for the second coming of Jesus... ... Jesus said in Mark 10:31 that "many that are first shall be last; and the last first." "I think this verse is no longer a prophecy in our church today. Sooner or later you can see in your very eyes that in the middle of any problems, conflicts and debates of New Theological issues within Adventists church, there must be new comers, new Adventists from every Nations, Kindreths, tongue and people that shall keep moving forward in the middle of any church and family problems and with those new Adventists God will use them to spread the Three Angels' Messages soon before the close of probation" "The history will be repeated again as the first coming of our baby Jesus. There was almost nobody within Israelites in which GOD has appointed His special job to humankind...to see their Deliverer already born in Bethlehem. "Instead, the foreigners-WiseMen from the East-were the people that said, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? We have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him"" "The same thing may be happened again in His second coming if we're not careful. Too busy with unnecessary things but forgetting the special duty God has given us as Adventists. But...too much complaints, rather! So at the times when we're as a lifetime Adventusts so busy in complaining and fighting each others, the new believers are probably the ones that has been proclaiming with a loud voice, "Fear God and give Glory to him, for the hour of His judgement has come. And worship Him that created heavens and earth, the sea and all springs of water". "Even so, come Lord Jesus"" Quote
