Dr. Shane Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Willacy County Grand Jury Indicts Vice President A Willacy County grand jury has indicted a number of political figures, including Vice President Dick Cheney. Indictments have not yet been made public and we're told a district judge still has to sign the indictments. Two state district judges are also indicted along with Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. NEWSCHANNEL 5 is digging to find out more. Senator Lucio has already issued a statement in response to the indictment. It says a motion will be filed to quash Senator Lucio's indictment this week. [text from link] Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Dr. Shane Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 Willacy County is the county just north of the county I live in. Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. is my state senator and is a Democrat. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
fccool Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I highly doubt the indictment will stick. It will probably drag on and will be dropped by the judge once the controversy settles down and the new president takes the office. Quote
Moderators John317 Posted November 19, 2008 Moderators Posted November 19, 2008 I agree. It won't get far. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Moderators John317 Posted November 19, 2008 Moderators Posted November 19, 2008 I'm sure that right after President Bush ceases to be our president, there will be calls for him to be arrested and tried as a war criminal. Those indictments-- from whatever source-- will go no further than this indictment against Cheney will go. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Neil D Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Oooh, I donno..... If Cheney is arrested and convicted of War Crimes, I guess you could say that there is some definate change going on...... And some peoples on this forum think that change is not happening..... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Dr. Shane Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 I don't think this indictment has anything to do with war crimes I think it centers around an immigration detention center here. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Neil D Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Well, they seem a bit tight lipped about it.... Where is that investigative reporting when you need it...? Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Dr. Shane Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 It is all over the news and local talk shows here. It sounds like the indictment of the federal officials will be squashed quickly as this grand jury doesn't have jurisdiction over them. The state officials, like my Democratic senator, will have a little more work to do. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
fccool Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 The prosecutor did not show up... . That was the last I've heard of it. Quote
Dr. Shane Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 He skipped out from a local interview with our local Channel 4 too. Word is he was in Mexico for something but is to be back in the courtroom today. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
