Dr. Shane Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Reid: We won't smell the tourists anymore The Capitol Visitors Center, which opened this morning, may have tripled its original budget and fallen years behind schedule, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid found a silver lining for members of Congress: tourists won't offend them with their B.O. anymore. "My staff tells me not to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway," said Reid in his remarks. "In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be descriptive but it's true." But it's no longer going to be true, noted Reid, thanks to the air conditioned, indoor space. And that's not all. "We have many bathrooms here, as you can see," Reid continued. "Souvenirs are available." $621 million well spent. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Taylor Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 lol I have been in many countries and trust me the USA doesn't stink by comparison to some places. In some places the food, not the people, has a very strong odor. Quote

carolaa Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I welcome anyone planning a trip to Washington DC to come to sunny South Texas where we don't say our tourists stink. I was thinking exactly the same thing. When I lived in San Antonio, I worked close to the bus line near downtown and saw lots of tourists, but never smelled them, and never heard anyone complain about the smell. Good grief! Quote
FreeThinker Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 No more BO, but there is this. http://www.dcexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/YeasandNays/Prayers_are_answered_prices_are_down11-30.html Quote "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth; I came not to send peace, but a sword". Jesus
