melvin mccarty Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Let's assume then that it is proved that abortion is "sinful". Next question might be who must carry the burden of that "sin"? Is it the abortionist or the rapist or the advisors or the father or the mother or the church or.........? Quote
Dr. Shane Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Since many instances of abortion are believed to be sinful by the church our mission is simple regarding it. 1) We try to discourage it. 2) We try to be supportive of those in situation where abortion may be in consideration. 3) We provide healing to those who have had abortions. Raphael Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 Sin is equal in the eyes of God, that is our understanding but clearly described in the that kool-aid verse and other as well that the punishment for taking life is not the same with just causing injury.. I believe that our SDA denomination should clarify its correct standing upon this matter whether we are the same with the Catholic church in believing the value of life in the unborn, adhering to the mandate of the pope, because it was and is him that openly claimed the power to change the law (Bible law), adding and changing so many new laws, not only of Sunday observance but also including this belief of life in the unborn. The Jewish people are known for over doing things, such as the over observance of the Sabbath but clearly never making up things without due biblical ground or what do they call it .. the Talmud.. I don't see any particular over doing in this abortion matter in relation to the kool-aid Exodus verse, they follow it to the letter by regarding the unborn to be of no life value in equivalent to born life, simply as that. The strongest supporter of life in the unborn I suppose must come from the Catholics where ofcourse nothing can be discussed because the pope is god in this world with such great powers that it was describe in the Daniel prophecies. I hope we can stand the mainstream current of dominating religious views upon this matter and be able to stand firm like firm trees and not like reeds bowing to the wind..
