Sulla Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Ok I know we dont talk about Islam much in prophecy. But maybe we should. Here is why. The Western world in 1970 had twice as big a share of the global population as the Muslim world: 30 percent to 15 percent. By 2000, they were the same: each had about 20 percent. Current predictions show that many of the countries in europe could have muslim majorities by 2050. And of course very large minorities before then. And Russia the worlds largest country is following this same trend. So how does this play in with prophecy? Could it a reaction to the surge of Islam that will bring a turn to nominal christianity and a sunday law? There is already talk of defending our christian heritage in both the EU and US. And then of course when Satan comes as Christ all the Muslims etc would fall inline with what ever he says. Any way interested in any thoughts on the subject. Quote
Sulla Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 HEY SULLA I HEARD a sermon on the king of the north and the king of the south in DAN chap 11 ver 5 to 15 that said the king of the south was the muslin nations and the king of the north was the christians nations... IT was interesting how it was present. I WISH I had got a couple of his notes but I DID not as for satan coming as christ this is for the christian nations my understand that the devil's angels will come as BUDDHA to the Buddhist and MOHAMMED to the Muslims dgrimm60 I have never seen anything about him coming as Budda or mohammed. Plus it does not make much sense. As he cant come as christ and muslims not know. Plus all he has to do is show up and tell them they are wrong on one point. Or tell the christians they are wrong and Arius was correct about the nature of christ. Quote
Kountzer Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 I agree with what has been proposed. If I understood correctly, Kennth Cox states the same in some of his prophecy lectures: namely that the surge of islam may or will cause western christianity to line up behind the pope and sunday worship, as a sort of catalyst, along with other endtime events. It is plausable. DB Quote I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. Frederick Douglass
Members phkrause Posted December 20, 2008 Members Posted December 20, 2008 Steve Wolhberg is doing a 13 part series on Islam on 3ABN. I started taping them but than we got that ice storm here in the NE. Our power was out about 3 days. I missed a show. Now my vcr is doing some weird things. But I think if you go to Steve's web site "whitehorsemedia.com" you can purchase them. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. fccool Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Hmm, I think it would not bit an accurate representation of the religious breakdown. Much of the Europe was under influence of the Muslim religion for centuries, including my own home country Ukraine. Consider the spread of the Ottoman Empire through the history. Muslim religion is very marginalized worldwide today because of the presence of Radical Islam, and push of perception among Christians that all of Islam is Radical and radicalism and violence is rooted in Quran (Which I don't hold to be even remotely true). The end times deception will be Religion independent, and primarily target the non-religious and agnostics which will be wowed by the miracles enough to recognize that God exists, and will follow whatever new morality will be pushed. Most of the Christians today only know what their pastors tell them. They don't study for themselves, and they are hoping to magically see through the deception because God will protect them based on their "faith". God does warn that "my people perish for the lack of knowledge". That will certainly be the case in the last days... independent of the denomination, religion, gender... and we as Adventists will not be immune to it if we don't continually seek the answers and constantly re-evaluate what we "know" to be true.
