Woody Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Here's the situation. I finally got to sleep tonight. Then my dog climbed on on the top of my head and started snoring in stereo. I was not aware that dogs could snore so loud . I finally had to get up out of bed and come report this to you. Do you have any solutions for my problem. He is just so loud that I finally have to leave. Then he gets my side of the bed. Blanche doesn't seem aware of the problem. At least I tried to be quiet when I left and came to report this problem to you guys. I do hope you can help. What is a man to do .... when his dog has a snoring problem? Any suggestions? Liz Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Sorry Red, I have no ideas for you. If you find anything good out let me know, 'cause I have a cat that snores. It got so bad one night we thought one of the kids was having a problem breathing, when I investigated it was the cat . I had no idea they could snore so loud. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 22, 2008 Members Posted December 22, 2008 If it's that bad, take the dog to an ENT canine specialist. OTOH, save some money and buy some ear plugs. Amelia Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Red, quit letting the dog sleep on your head. Woody Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Red, quit letting the dog sleep on your head. Amelia ... you sound just like a doctor. "If it hurts you ... don't do it" . Great advice but not something I would want to do. Ha Ha. I like the dog on my head. I just don't like the stereo in my ears. I also like to spoil my dog and let him go where he wants ... so if he wants my head so be it. I just may have to move if it gets too loud. That way his strategy works and he gets the bed. Woody Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 HEY REDWOOD DOES the dog have to sleep in the same room as you do???? you might want to give you dog a separate room??? maybe a bed that you dog can sleep in??? if not try ear plugs like RUDYWOOFS said. dgrimm60 dgrimm60 ... please see the above post. But I do like Pam and your idea of ear plugs. That may actually solve the problem. Thanks. I will go and ask my dog for permission to wear them ... Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. You allow your dog to sleep on your head???? [eyes rolling] Oooh brother.....[he says, an obvious dog hater] Look, if you don't like a snoring dog, then get him a CPAP machine and hook him up to it. It works on humans, and I suspect it will work on dogs...If he don't shake off the mask, he'll sleep quietly and you can get some sleep....Hey, it's an idea and it works for humans... Otherwise, put the dog outside, at least out of the bedroom, and give him his little bed....then he can snore all he wants and you won't have to put up with it....[Ok, I am not as much as a dog lover as you are...It's not like I am asking you to take him to the pound or trade him in for another non-snoring model.] Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. Woody Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Look Uncle Neil ... I love my dog. He does as he pleases. My dog has to drive me where I want. So, I value and take good care of him and if he wants to snore on my head ... he will snore on my head. And that is final. Ha Ha. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Lineman Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 It appears that this dog wants to be close to your wife rather than close to you because when you got up he did not follow did he? What would happen if you made your wife sleep in the other room? Would the dog follow her? Maybe you should sleep on the couch for a few days to catch up on some sleep? Guess I'm not being much help. Taylor Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 LOL I love my puppy dog very much too..she is adorably cute and just loves everyone but I would never have to put up with her snoring, asuming that she snores, as no pet would ever sleep in my room, lol Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted December 24, 2008 Moderators Posted December 24, 2008 I snore quite loudly myself, and fortunately my beloved wife has chosen to wear earplugs, rather than boot me out of the bedroom. Quote Truth is important
Taylor Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 LOL yes but Bravus you aren't a canine. Canines are cute and wonderful but they can keep their slobbery kisses, possible flees, and halitosis to themselves when they are sleeping,,.....in my opinion. But you are human and your dear wife loves you too much to want to boot you out and the ear plugs take care of it so I am glad for both of you. :) Quote
