Demographics statistics and prophecy etc.

Some interesting demographics and statistics I wounder how this all fits in with prophecy etc.

-About 89 percent of Adventist church growth occurred in six of the church's 13 world regions -- South America, Inter-America, East-Central Africa, South Africa-Indian Ocean, Southern Asia and Southern Asia-Pacific.

Africa and Latin America are now home to about 70 percent of Adventist church membership. About 18 percent of members reside in Asia, seven percent in North America and five percent in Europe and Oceania, Haloviak

-Ten thousand Chinese become Christians each day.

-200 million Chinese may comprise the world's largest concentration of Christians by mid-century, and the largest missionary force in history.

-South Korea is secound to only the US in sending out Christian missionaries.

-90% of Chinese christians are protestant.

-Germany, France, England, Spain, Russia and the rest of Europe will probably be majority muslim by mid century.

-Muhammad is now second only to Jack as the most popular name for baby boys in Britain as of 2008. And its much the same across europe. In many cities its has been number one for a while. For example in Brussels, and Oslo.

-The native poplulations europe including russia have all gone into decline. And amoung those that are left fewer and fewer to to church.

-Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world if you count birth rate. Secound to Christianity if you dont.

I will try and add some more when I am less sleepy. But still lots of food for thought. For example our artwork tend to show a white missionary giving the gospel to say an asian. But it seems that soon it should be changed to be the other way around. Maybe chines missionary giving the gospel athiest in Paris or the Muslim in London.

If you were to look at the various evangelistic series that are out there (New Beginnings, ShareHim's program and others) the pictures have been contextualized to the culture and race which is great. Also AWR is reaching audiences that no one else can reach. I have friends who have been missionaries in closed countries. I am sure that the GC can't always tell the statistics for a particular country or there might be ramifications for the believers there. The church is growing even in closed countries. Yes, the road to perdition is wide so God will probably loose more of his children due to their choices than be able to save as they don't want to be saved...but for those who never heard enough to make a decision one way or the other God is working on them currently through various means.

Your right AWR is doing a great work. But even in non closed muslim countries we are not doing well. We dont really have evangalism geared to Muslims.

I have had friends who were in closed countries...actually we do have "evangelism" geared to that religion but it isn't done in the traditional sense and the reason you don't hear about it is simply prudence. There is room for improvement but "evangelisM' is happening.

Well we are of course told about the Catholic church. But with the EU and Russia being majority Muslim soon that would have to play a part if we are still here.

Sorry I was to sweeping about my remarks. Yes I know we have some evangalism geared to muslims. And I know there is some work in closed countries. But its a tiny amount. And think if this if you go to your local Adventist Book Center where are the books geared to Muslims? There are 5-8 million Muslims in the US. And over 20 million in the EU. It would be much more effective to try and convert muslims here and let them be missionaries to their own countries. But good luck finding things geared to them at the ABCs. Also the vast majority of Adventist know nothing about Islam. And you are not going to be prepared to reach a Muslim if you do not know anything about Islam.
