Paul Beach Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 And now . . . A Very Special Ask Mrs. Gray Dear Individuals, Here we are at Christmas time again and we are meeting with friends and families whom we see but once a year. Mrs. Gray met with her family which has the best family season and enjoyed this time of fellowship immensely. Although Christmas is mostly a pagan celebration, it has been adequately Christianized so that one does not need to worry too much about being mistaken for an idol worshipper if you put up a Christmas Tree or sing Jingle Bells. Some of weak stomachs may not be able to handle a pagan celebration, and we oughtent to offend the weaker brethren among us or tempt them. However, if you are of strong constitution and can properly understand the meaning, then this message is for you. At Christmas time, we often join with family members who are going down the wrong track spiritually, physically, and mentally, and this is a great opportunity to help provide gentle correction and bring them back into wholeness of life. In Mrs. Gray's family, for instance, there was one child who insisted on eating a piece of hard candy that he was given. Now sugar has many deleterious effects which are well known, including the rotting of teeth and the weakening of the physical constitution which can ultimately lead to death. One who has multiple dental issues cannot later in life provide medical guidance when his or her mouth is in severe disrepair, so it is important to begin this process at youth. Mrs. Gray took the mint away from the child and simply replaced it with a radish which the child tasted and was ultimately satisfied with. Mind you, this was not without significant crying, but had Mrs. Gray not done this, the child would certainly not have been restrained by his own parents. The child now expresses his love of radishes and will likely never return to harmful sweets. Similarly another adult family member said that she frequents a coffee shop where she has a small coffee stimulant every day. Mrs. Gray expressed to her how it was harmful and should be avoided as any drug. The woman was very grateful for this information and will likely never enter the coffee halls again. Music was another issue this year as one of the parents had brought along a CD of some very high-pitched singing by some animated ground squirrels about hula hoops and airplanes. Not only is this kind of singing harmful to the vocal chords, but it grated upon the nerves and caused several to tap their feet to the loud beat which quickened the senses. Mrs. Gray stopped the CD and explained the harmful effects of the music and it was greatly appreciated by all present. Instead for the children Mrs. Gray played an inspirational book on tape which was educational and fulfilled the entertainment needs of the children and all agreed it was far better than listening to worldly music. These are just some ways in which Mrs. Gray made Christmas a much better experience for her family, and you should do this too. All appreciated her efforts and thanked her profusely as she left that evening - it was one night a year but Mrs. Gray made a difference that will warm these hearts for the rest of the year. Sincerely, Mrs. Gray Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 27, 2008 Members Posted December 27, 2008 What's a letter from Mrs. Gray without her picture? Moderators Nan Posted December 27, 2008 Moderators Posted December 27, 2008 I am so glad to see Mrs Gray again, but I have to ask myself, will she be invited to the family Christmas gathering next year? I just hope that her noble efforts to improve the quality of life of her extended family, are not regarded as the actions of an interfering senior citizen. (Please, no personal offence is intended by this remark.) Quote
Paul Beach Posted December 27, 2008 Author Posted December 27, 2008 Dear person, Of course Mrs. Gray will be invited back again next year. It is her family and her relatives and they all appreciated Mrs. Gray's wisdom on these topics. Sincerely, Mrs. Gray Quote

Morepork Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Hi Mrs Gray, I hope you made sure the raddish was spray free/organic. You wouldn't want to be feeding the little darling, chemicals! Quote Morepork
Moderators Kevin H Posted December 27, 2008 Moderators Posted December 27, 2008 How I've missed Mrs. Gray and how behind her humor is some very strong points about some of our practices... maybe I have not missed her that much, as I think I see her when I shave. By the way, you forgot to mention the beautiful fireplace flames started by burning the Nov-Dec issue of Bible review that argues that Christians celebrate December 25 based on Jewish legend rather than going out of the way to appeal to the pagans. Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted December 30, 2008 Moderators Posted December 30, 2008 Mrs. Gray, this brings back memories of long, long ago...! You were very much in evidence here when I first started reading C/A -- several years ago. After you left, I wondered if we'd ever hear from you again. Now I'm glad to see that you haven't passed off the scene of action, but just took a breather, so to speak. Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....
olger Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Hi Maggie ! Has Mrs. Gray ever considered attending christmas in the hood with Al Sharpton? There are a multitude of bad habits there that need her corrective touch. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Neil D Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Oooooh, are you in trouble, Olger! "maggie"...you want to call Mrs Gray "Maggie"? Oooh boy! I hope you are not expecting that your question re: Al Sharpton will be answered....... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
