cricket Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I don't wear jewelry, or a watch, for that matter. Neither do I wear make-up. Personally, I find the use of such accessories to be rather silly. I prefer my clothing to be simple: comfortable, size appropriate, non-distracting nor attention-drawing. I am not offended by others who chose to wear jewlery or make-up, but I might think to myself that they look rather unusual. To me, it's a personal choice--not a moral or Biblical choice. I choose to be functional and practical. Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 30, 2008 Members Posted December 30, 2008 I think it should be a personal choice as well. (I really hope this thread doesn't degrade into the voluminous thread on jewelry that we had not so very long ago...) Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Woody Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I don't wear any jewelry. But, I do respect the right of SDAs to do so. It has to be a personal decision. But for certain ... it is not a religious or moral one. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Liz Posted December 31, 2008 Author Posted December 31, 2008 (I really hope this thread doesn't degrade into the voluminous thread on jewelry that we had not so very long ago...) Sorry, I didn't know there was a bad thread on jewelry. Sadly this isn't even exactly the poll I wanted to know. I remembered while I was driving around what it was that I really wanted to ask. So now I am not quite sure what to do. Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Members phkrause Posted December 31, 2008 Members Posted December 31, 2008 I think it would look rather good with those things as ear rings on shane and olger. hahahahahaha! I also don't wear any jewelry, I do wear a watch but nothing fancy. I actually have two, one for any thing use, and one is a schedule watch that jingles take me out to the ball game. And it has my favorite baseball team logo on it "NYY". I have on occasion contemplated an ear ring and a tatoo, but have not given in to the temptation's as of yet. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted December 31, 2008 Administrators Posted December 31, 2008 Olger and Shane ya'll are too funny, I suddenly have a picture of you both wearing your drill bits and saw blades around ya'll's necks to give yourselves a little bling. Fashionable among bikers is a bike chain as a bracelet, belt or necklace, so I guess drill bits and saw blades could be used as manly jewelry for the construction pros, kind of a badge of honor used among some cultures of a necklace with the teeth of the tiger you killed. Moderators Bravus Posted December 31, 2008 Moderators Posted December 31, 2008 Quote: Me thinks that every seaman should have a bit o gold ring in 'is ear Present. Plus a wedding ring (see the other thread Liz started) and a chain necklace. Probably worth a total of maybe AU$200 all together, so whatever exceptions people might make, extravagance isn't one of them. Quote Truth is important
Moderators Nan Posted December 31, 2008 Moderators Posted December 31, 2008 Jewelry has to be adapted to lifestyle.....I like the thought of those that build/construct/repair having a lot of metal and diamond jangly bits about their persons. If your job entails fairly frequent surgical scrubbing then there is a limit to what is practical to wear. Going out, I occasionally wear other rings or pendants or necklaces but I am definitely not into pierced ear lobes. Or noses, ear cartilage or other anatomical bits either. But that is my personal choice. Quote

Moderators Nan Posted December 31, 2008 Moderators Posted December 31, 2008 you could have a couple of hemostat forcep earrings, Nan.. would you wear the forceps with the pinchy end on the earlobe, or just hang the rings over the ears? Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 31, 2008 Members Posted December 31, 2008 I was thinking the pinchy end on the earlobe, but just hanging the rings over the ears would work too!
