House For Sale?

[Gregory Matthews]

If you follow football (Or even ifyou don't.) you probably know that Mike Shanahan has been fired by Pat Bowlen as coach of the Denver Broncos. Some have showed interest in his 20 million severance package (could be less)that he could get depending upon when he takes other employment.

The qeustion now is whether or not Shanahan will stay in Denver so he can move into the home that he is being built when it's construction is finished.

To begin construction, in 2007, Shanahan sold the home he owned then for 16 million dollars.

The home that he is now building is 36,000 square feet in size. The garage is 3,600 square feet. It will have a 9.8 KW photovoltaic system which cost $79,000. It is heated by a deep geothermal system. Construction costs on the building are estimaeted bot over 7 million dollars for materials and labor.

As a note of interest, this home is being built next door to the home of Pat Bowlen, the man who fired him. Bowlen's home contains 9,800 square feet of living space.

Shanahan has several business interests in the Denver area. He is part of an investment group that recently purchased a business property for over 17 million dollars. He is building a restaurant in a business area. He has lived in the Dnver area for about 20 years.

How would any of you like to live in a home like that?

NOTE: Information in the above has come from the THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS.

Aren't we a society of extremes. Either very rich or poor. Its also amazing that so many people in the world are starving and people built these unreal homes!!!!

Not interested. My home is only 1840 square feet, the basement is around 1400 something. My home would fit into his garage I guess. And I'm thinking of downsizing because I'm thinking my home is to big for us. What a joke!

I hope it is insulated with spray foam (the best).

360 Squares is a huge house - enormous !!

[GreatLakesGramma]

Nobody needs a house that big.

[Dottie]

It would be good to hide in when the family gets annoying!!

Also, only if it comes with adequate "help."

[olger]

Wouldn't be fun to clean. (Or paint).

There are many Mexican families that raise five to eight children in a home that is 5 meters by 5 meters which is about 250SF. These are wood framed with plywood sheathing. Some have glass windows but most do not. The windows are just openings in the wall with plywood shutters on to close when it rains or gets cold. The first elder of the church I attend in Mexico lives in such a house. No insulation, no sheetrock, no ceiling.

The middle class, still poor by our standards, live in masonry homes between 500SF and 800SF. The wealthier, closer to what would be middle class in America, has homes about the same size as average American homes. Then there are the super wealthy that have mansions with servants and rooms that no body ever goes into and that serve no purpose.

Just think how many homeless people you could fit in there. If I had the money I could buy it and make it a homeless shelter.

[Stan]

I wanted to buy that, but it does not have a bowling alley.

Stan:

Are you positive?

I did not tell you about everything, such as the 12 foot deep swimming pool.
