Moderators John317 Posted January 2, 2009 Moderators Posted January 2, 2009 Excellent short film. Thanks for posting it here. As someone has already pointed out, it shows how great our God is. Also shows how amazing it is that God cares about this tiny planet called earth. Sure isn't because of its size. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Moderators Bravus Posted January 2, 2009 Moderators Posted January 2, 2009 Great presentation - and it doesn't even begin to get into the vast gulfs of space *between* the stars, or the sheer size of galaxies that are made out of hundreds of millions of stars like those, or the distances between galaxies and local groups... "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."John 15:15 NIV "And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,"Ephesians 3:9,10 KJV I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.John 14:18 NIV Regards! Lineman Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 We have been created by an awesome God, there is no doubt, but did anyone else see the error in this short film? It shows the sun larger than our Solar System (on the screen shot above, or am I reading it wrong?) Anyway, it kind of shows us that God is not limited by size, or anything else for that matter, but we humans can't even get a simple movie completely right. But who is this God we serve anyway? The more you think about these works of His the more profound, the more awesome, the more unfathomable He becomes. How can a being like this even care about a speck of dirt like we live on? When you start to compare what we humans know compared to things like cockroaches and ants (Could they ever learn to fly the space shuttle?); what we know about compared to what a fish might know about, and then compare ourselves to our Creator I have a tendency to feel smaller than a bug. Yet God was willing to become one of us so that we could become like Him? There is NO WAY that I am ever going to understand this kind of love! Quote Visit and Share the BibleTimelines.com URL ! Moderators Bravus Posted January 3, 2009 Moderators Posted January 3, 2009 This is one of the reasons I think we need to be humble in our claims to know and understand God. He has revealed Himself to us as much as is possible within *our* limitations, but that's still a tiny fraction of an infinite God. How arrogant and silly, then, to get into arguments over the differences in our understandings... it's like the blind men and the elephant, only with an infinitely large elephant. The only thing we know is that our knowledge is vanishingly small compared to the reality of God. Quote Truth is important

Lineman Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 That's just it! We should be "insignificant", but to God we are not. Why? Why does He love us so much? Quote Visit and Share the BibleTimelines.com URL ! (Explain the Gospel in just a few minutes, or maybe even seconds.)
olger Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 The size of the universe should affirm our faith in the God of Genesis 1-3 rather than dilute His Name with human inventions (darwin etc..) Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Yet God was willing to become one of us so that we could become like Him? There is NO WAY that I am ever going to understand this kind of love! Amen! And this of course, brings up the subject of evolution. Back in the days of Darwin they might be excused as a result of not knowing how deeply ignorant man really is. For instance an amoeba was considered to be the simplest living organism. Today we know that the more closely one investigates the smallest particle, the more intricate and complex they prove to be, not to mention their beauty. Today it is accepted in many of the greatest minds that the more we know, the more we know we don't know. That fact alone makes it easier for the non-believer to accept that in the realm of the unknown there just might be a God that deeply cares about them and is trying desperately to get them to invite Him into their lives in order to work out their best possible future. LifeHiscost Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 That's just it! We should be "insignificant", but to God we are not. Why? Why does He love us so much? Man generally loves because of who the subject of their love is. We cannot love any other way, without Divine intervention, because of our fallen natures. Our Father may love us because of who we are, His children. However I would like to suggest He loves us because of Who He is. "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." 1 John 4:8 KJV "If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. " 2 Timothy 2:13 NKJV "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." John 17:2 NIV Regards! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
