It is elementary my dear Watson, Mimosa is a drink comprised of champagne and wine, and when this "apparition" appeared, the scent of mimosa was also present. Therefore, I deduce that whoever is drinking the mimosa is also seeing the ghostie. Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? guibox Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 There was a time when I was very intrigued by hauntings and ghosts. I was thinking about going into demonology and paranormal investigation (from a Christian point of view). I believe ghosts exist but I believe that it is satanic deception and not the dearly beloved ghost of my mother or Clover Adams or whoever. the state of the dead doctrine of the scriptures is clear as a bell, and even from a point of view where I believe my soul goes to heaven or hell at death; nowhere in the scriptures do we see any hint that these souls can roam the earth or haunt houses. Therefore even if I believed that the soul was immortal, I would still have to conclude that ghosts and hauntings are from Satan and not a natural occurrence that God allows. Sometimes when my wife isn't around, I'll stop the channel on a paranormal investigation show....sneaky aren't I? Don't tell her! Quote www.corbel.theacaistory.com
nuff sed Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Guibox............ In spite of what dgrimm says, Ghosts are not real . If you believe that the dead are asleep and "Know not anything" then the manifestations which "do" appear are Satanic deceptions as you have already stated. Quote
Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted January 6, 2009 Moderators Posted January 6, 2009 I believe there are spirits roaming the earth -- but they're the evil angels who were cast out of heaven with Lucifer. I believe they're able to impersonate people. When we die, our spirit returns to the Lord who made us. Our spirit ends -- exists no more. Because our spirit is the breath God gave us. [At creation, God breathed into Adam's nostrils and Adam became a living soul.] The soul is the same as Adam himself. And when Adam died, the soul's existence ended. Of course, there are also good angels all around us all the time. I like to imagine my guardian angel at my side. We're truly being sheltered and protected by our good angels all the time. And they're stronger by far than any spooky evil angel who might be trying to impersonate our dead relatives. Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....
nuff sed Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I think that if you rephrase "our spirit returns to the Lord who made us' to "the spirit return to the Lord who made us" it would be a clearer statement. When man ceases to become a "living soul" all identity ceases. "The Breath of Life" goes back to God who created it. When Jesus comes back to this earth we will be "recreated". There is a statement in the SOP that "the Lord is not committed to 'prior material' in the work of recreation. (loose translation). Quote
