These big companies have financial planners/forcasters. They would have seen droping sales long before this recent announcement of closing stores and laying off employees. I'm betting that the cancellation fee wouldn't have been as much as they are going to save on all those closed stores and fired people also factoring in the savings in employee benefits. Besides the jet, someone will be getting a nice bonus.
