I know the truth, and the truth has set me free. Please pray for my mother--Vicki--that she'll stop pressuring me and persecuting me about going forth to be an SDA Christian. Hi, Adam, yes, I will pray for you in your trials, that God's will be done. You may think that I am a little hard -- but I am not. Let me illustrate it this way. If you did not use your muscles, they would soon lose their strength. God often allows trials to increase a person's "spiritual muscle". He has given a promise in 1 Corinthians 10:12 and 13 -- the promise here is "And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." We don't know WHY God is allowing you to have such a trial, but let me make one suggestion. It COULD be that your mother is actually fighting against the Holy Spirit, in that she has recognised the truth, but there is a fight going on in her mind -- Satan trying to keep her where she is, and the Holy Spirit convicting her of the truth. We don't know. So my prayer for you is three-fold. 1. That God will give you the strength that you need to stand firm during this time. 2. That God will continue working with your mother to bring her to the place where she will be faced with the decision -- God or Satan. 3. That God will guide you in any decisions that you need to make about your future. Once again, not knowing your age or circumstances, I can only make this as a suggestion -- maybe you need to move out for a while, and still keep in touch with your mother -- but from a distance. Be prepared to take this course if God indicates His approval.
