Dr. Shane Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Most male baldness is caused by the body producing too much testosterone. There was a study I read some years ago that linked male baldness and divorce. According to the study bald men are more likely to commit adultery which leads to divorce. The old wives tale says that baldness is caused by masturbation. While there is probably a link between the two it probably is the baldness (high production of testosterone) causing the masturbation and not the masturbation causing the baldness. There is hair-transplant surgery that can take care of most baldness. I wouldn't suggest Rogaine or Propecia. If a man really wants to do something about it, just save up the money and get the surgery. Since hair loss continues, plan on going back for more surgery in five or ten years. I have found a more affordable solution myself. A hat. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
fccool Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 How old are you? Do you have bald people in your family? Do you wear hats? Do you wash your hair with hot water? Do you eat proper diet of protein, and vitamins E and C? All of the above can be a factor. But, even if you do lose hair, don't get discouraged. It's not what on your head, but what's in your head that counts . Quote
Dr. Shane Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Do Hats Cause Baldness? People who work in services like military, police, and fire brigade have to wear hats or caps all day. Usually it has been seen that hair loss and wearing hats coincide, but there is no proof that the hair loss starts due to your wearing hats. A male hormone called Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is responsible for the hair loss. An imbalance of DHT damages hair follicles and for this reason hair falls. There are other reasons also that cause hair loss. Normally hair loss starts due to three basic reasons, these are stress, DHT and health. In the armed forces and other services stress is at a high level. Due to this stress the hair starts falling. Poor health can damage blood cells and vessels. Dead vessels hold back the growth process of hair, which in turn creates baldness on the head. This type of hair loss can be seen with people suffering from heart diseases. Heart patients suffer from hair loss problems. So we can conclude that hair loss does not happen due to wearing hats. Though, wearing tight hats all the time can cause a little bit of split hair ends. In fact, most people start wearing hats only after they go bald. GreatLakesGramma Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I read, years ago, that eunuchs don't go bald. (Not suggesting anything, it just goes along with what Shane said about testosterone.) fccool Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 My father in law is a dermatologist and you are correct on DHT, but there's more to hair loss than DHT. Many drug companies would like you to believe that there is all there is to it. After men hit 25, hair loss accelerates in all males. The hair grow back, but there are number of things you can do to make it worse. Wearing hat during summer is one of those things. Washing your hair with really hot water, is another. If you have dry skin condition (such as psoriasis), it can contribute to thinning of your hair. Poor dental health, and poor diet could also contribute to the cause. Try taking care of the above. If you have dry scalp, use medicated shampoo (Selson Blue Medicated is the best), wash your hair in lukewarm water, and not too often. Don't wear hats in summer heat, and don't scratch your head to avoid infection. If you follow these and your hear still falling out, then ... remember that you are not alone. And that there's nothing wrong with being balled. Some of the world's top celebrated men are balled. Just relax, and don't lose your hair over it (sorry, could not help myslef . Quote
Dr. Shane Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I have never seen any studies that linked hats to hair loss. Poor nutrition and stress have been linked to hair loss but not hats. Hats actually shade the face from damaging UV rays and if a person is balding those rays can burn the scalp where the hair is thinning. Wearing a hat in the summer heat can increase sweating and clog pores on the scalp but that can be taken care of by shampooing with a scalp-cleansing shampoo in the evening. Guest truthseeker007 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Ok thanks for all the info. I think with me it s a combination. I don t eat and drink healthy, i am often starting to shake from the testesteron and i am constantly under a lot of pressure. Well actually i don t really care if i get bold, i often use the misery in my life to focus on spiritual growth. I use university as a tool against depression. It distracts my mind from my factual life and all the losses i ve experienced. By the way i saw a presentation on video google about the sabbath. And then i learned that the fourth commandment is explicitly tied to the first 3 commandments. If you keep sunday holy you worship another God, called a pope (who according to Unam Sanctum determines who gets saved), this God also allows the worship of graven images and uses the name of God in vain. It s my goal to make people realise themselves where ve we gone wrong. I mean, i think if the catholic church realised that it s not good to change the laws of God, to apologize for the crusades and turn the pope from a replacer of christ into a representative of christ, abolishing the doctrine of transubstantialism and stop telling the people that priests have the power to forgive their sins and pointing people to the fact that the holy spirit is the representative of Christ, then the catholic church might be restored. I am even thinking about becoming a pope myself to make these changes a reality. But i think the church just won t listen, because it demands a lot of faith (in creation etc.) to know this. Quote
Guest truthseeker007 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Maybe i should just wash my hair in holy water... Quote

Guest truthseeker007 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 If Jesus were alive today, would he mind it if i asked him for more hair? Anyway, just on national television an entertainment program called 'the new uri geller'. This program is about supernatural powers, telekineses, hypnosis and other kind of stuff. A vampire performed a satanic ritual with blood in which the famous participant automatically received a pentagram on her neck. Kind of sick, Uri geller was outraged and called it a disgusting performance, but the voters gave him enough votes to come back next week. I can t watch it anymore. Little by little our country with hard core protestant roots is being destroyed by deceivers who abuse the naivity of the people. I want to step up, but who am i? An ex junk/alcoholist/porn-addict/blasphemer/lonely outlaw. Still i feel the urge to do something, and i will. If only God is able to reprogram my mind. I was taught everywhere to believe in lies and evil. But sometimes a fresh wind of biblical insight enters my mind, and i am so thankfull for those moments, but so sad because i know those moments will be followed by dark moments and in those moments i run away from my pain, searching the internet for porn, masturbate so many times untill i fall asleep and the day is over...Basically that s my life. I do experience some improvements though. It is less worse than before, but it s probably because i threw away my fleshlight... Quote
Guest truthseeker007 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I am sometimes wondering, why would God love us? it doesn t make sense, we are not as intelligent as him, most of us think about theirselves all the time and we are far from perfect. Isn t it a torture for God to be with creatures like us? IN other words, who of you would advice Christ not to accept yourself because you are worthless? I did actually, i only want to be with Christ if i make him happy that way, but when i look back and consider my behaviour, that seems impossible... Quote
Nightingale Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 In describing "us"- not as intelligent as him, think about ourselves all the time and far from perfect- it reminded me of our very young babies and children and how we feel about them. We "create" them, but they are not always fun to be around. Yet, we do not feel tortured to care for them and watch them grow. Maybe that is a little picture of how God looks at us. Not a perfect picture, but maybe we can see a bit of how it is for God. Quote John 3: 16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
Moderators John317 Posted January 16, 2009 Moderators Posted January 16, 2009 I think, too, that the fact Jesus was a human on earth and will forever be human, should give us confidence that God is not turned off by humans. Jesus is God, of course, but he is also 100% man, our "elder brother." That fact raises us in value in God's view. God knows us better better than we know ourselves but are are already bought and paid for-- with the blood of His own Son. But God doesn't have any interest in losing what He's already bought and paid for. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Dr. Shane Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Hair transplants typically take the hair from around the crown of the head and transplant it on top. The hair around the crown is normally more resistant to the DHT so it doesn't fall out and keeps on growing. Another method is to transplant fake hair. It is dyed the same color as your natural hair and looks pretty good but it doesn't grow. So your barber needs to know not to cut it. The price of these surgeries are anywhere from $4,000 to $15,000 depending on how much hair has to be replaced. One can go over the boarder in Mexico and get them done for about half the cost. However buying a hat is a cheaper solution. And contrary to what some believe, wearing a hat does not cause baldness rather it is baldness that commonly causes people to wear a hat. Paul Beach Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Dear individuals, There are many great men of faith who have gone bald. For instance the prophet Elisha went bald, Doug Batchelor parts his hair rather broadly. In fact monks during the middle ages would shave their heads leaving a little ring of hair below to signify their devotion to God. Mrs. Gray believes that baldness is a sign of spiritual maturity and that attempts to look more immature are nothing but vanity and selfishness. Rather than hide your balding head, you should polish it. Sincerely, Mrs. Gray Quote

Moderators LynnDel Posted January 17, 2009 Moderators Posted January 17, 2009 TS, are you asking because you are vain or because your head is cold? If it's because you are vain (assuming you are a man), you should know that most women love bald men, especially those who can accept it for what it is. If it's because your head is cold, wear a snugly hat when you're outside. LD Quote LD
Guest truthseeker007 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 hahahah you guys are funny! Polish my head? LOL. Lyndell i am not totally bald yet, but my hairline-army is losing ground to some genetic disorder. But it s ok, i ve got much worse things to worry about than my hair. Though i would appreciate it if God multiplied my hairs. He knows exactly how many hairs i ve got, i wish he would give me 20 percent extra... Quote
