Going to Church

Okay ... all of you know that I love to brag when I get to go to church. Well ... today I made it. Praise God.

I am always so blessed to see more of the unique Body of Christ. Each person is SO precious. In one way I think I am blessed by not being able to attend each week. For when I do ... I can see so much more clearly how each person is so special and how they contribute so uniquely to the service and to the unity of the body of believers.

The prayer and share time is so revealing of the struggles that we all go through but yet how we have the opporunity to support one another.

So many of our people are having health problems. Some of the young adults have troubles with the law. One was arrested recently for rape. Yet ... once each enters the sanctuary of the church ... they are all equal and loved. This could only come from God. For the Devil would not want this to happen.

It is great to see God's love demonstrated.

I came in late. Missed Sabbath School which is something I really wanted to participate in after studying the lesson. But, I made it for the main service so for that I am grateful.

Anyway ... as I made my way to the front pew ... the Pastor came over and landed a big smacker on my lips. The only trouble was .... the wireless mic was on ... so the entire congregation heard it in stereo. Well ... you see the Pastor was not sure I was going to be able to make it to church. So, this was a pleasant surprise worthy of a good smootch.

Happy Sabbath. I know mine is. I feel well loved.

That is great Uncle Red, I am sure your church knows just how much Aunt Blanch loves you. I am glad that you had a great Sabbath.

Redwood, what keeps you from going to church, that makes it such a big event for you when you do get to go? Are you a health care worker? Or maybe a veterinarian with his own practise, who gets so many emergency calls from farmers, that he hardly has a life of his own any more, like a friend of ours, who always looks so sour and moody nowadays, instead of friendly and cheerful like he used to be?

I believe if I'm correct, and I hope Redwood doesn't hate me for saying this, but he has some health issues. I'll let him tell the rest.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I've been there too. Redwood, I'm glad you had a good day, so that you could go to church. I'm sure no one was embarrassed or offended by hearing your wife kiss you - probably more touched than anything else, except maybe the little kids who are at the age of being grossed out by adults kissing. Or is it only our own kids that can't stand that?

I also was thankful to be able to go to church today, for the first time in more than a month. It was so good to see everyone, and it was potluck week too, so I had more time to visit.
