Woody Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 The poem below was written by a former youth member of our church: The Greatest Story What is this gift you've given me, This thing called everlasting love What is this mighty thing you've done, To empty all of heaven above? A grace so pure bestowed upon me, Overflowing with mercy and care. Indeed, how can this thing so be, A love which can't be compared. How could you give you life for me, So perfect you are in sweet glory. To borne yourself in shameful flesh, So grand is this greatest story. How can you love someone as I, So polluted, my body and mind. Why for me does you heart so cry, You're the King, Lord, you're devine. Master, tell me how could it be, That your love for me is so true? All that I am are filthy rags, But you love me as if I were new. I am the one who deserved your death, Yet you were the one that died. Amazing beauty your love is in this. And it's crumbling my heart inside. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
True-believer Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Yeah Redwood, I love it when the gospel is in stuff!!! Keep up the fantastic work for the Lord. Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Woody Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 Thanks Luke. I didn't write this but I am glad to post it here. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 Hi dgrimm60. I do have 'indirect' contact ... yes. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 I can do that. Good Idea. The poem was given to me by the mother of this youth ... as a gift ... along with a picture. Thanks dgrimm60 Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Ellen Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 That is a very lovely, touching poem. He is very talented. I hope he has been able to use his writing talents. Maybe he could write one for this site. Something on Original Thoughts Quote
Woody Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Yes. She is very talented isn't she. I wouldn't recommend her being on 'original thoughts'. I asked if I could be banned from that forum ... but was refused. Not the kind of place I would suggest to this budding talent. I hope not to stumble on the place again. Just my personal experience. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
