Neil D Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Sorry, I know the subject line looks awful, but Shane is NOT the worst person in the world..and I don't want to confuse you'all with that fact.. Every once in a while, Shane keeps mentioning Keith Oberman as a liberal person....Frankly, never really paid attention to the man...And then one day, I was in a pt. room and Keith Oberman came on. and i have been an avid listner ever since. ...I wish I had a TV...would love to TIVO his show. Keith has a segment called "Worst person in the World" to which a few people are pictured and the reason why...It's pretty hilarious.... So, I have to thank Shane for attracting my attention towards Keith Oberman....Thanks Shane.... And now, without further ado, Keith Oberman on Utube- Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted January 28, 2009 Administrators Posted January 28, 2009 Yes! "Worst Persons in the World" is a favorite part of Countdown. I am an Olbermann fan, yes I am! And on the program's website - Countdown He beats Bilo the Clown, directly opposite on FoxAnnoys, any day in my book. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
Dr. Shane Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 When did I ever mention Keith Oberman? Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Neil D Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 Short memory, eh? There have been times in 'getting our news sources", you have named some who were liberal....Wait a minute......it just occured to me...I thought you said that you watch Oberman on occasion.... ....do you??? Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Dr. Shane Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I have never watched him although I have seen him listed as a liberal member of the media. From what I understand, he is as far left as Limbaugh is right. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Neil D Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 I have never watched him although I have seen him listed as a liberal member of the media. From what I understand, he is as far left as Limbaugh is right. So you have never heard him???? You listed him as a "liberal" and you have never heard him..????? Wow, Shane....must be humbling to be considered an expert and, yet, not know your subject.... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. Dr. Shane Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I have never claimed to be an expert on Keith Oberman, the media or even politics. Construction management is my discipline but even with that there is just so much to know I can hardly consider myself an expert. I think it was Johnny Cash that sang, "When I learned enough to really live, I'll be old enough to die." I think that is how it is with general contracting. Once a person learns enough to be an expert they are ready to retire. But that is why we have specialty contractors like Olger. People like me are the jack of all trades and the ace of none. But we know where the aces (like Olger) are so we use them as our experts. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Moderators Bravus Posted January 29, 2009 Moderators Posted January 29, 2009 'Olbermann' , thanks guys. And yeah, he's pretty much part of the reality-based community, which in the US at the moment places him somewhere to the left of Karl Marx, apparently. Quote Truth is important
Moderators John317 Posted January 29, 2009 Moderators Posted January 29, 2009 'Olbermann' , thanks guys. And yeah, he's pretty much part of the reality-based community, which in the US at the moment places him somewhere to the left of Karl Marx, apparently. Naw, not hardly. He's not a real Lefty in the minds of people who are genuinely Left in the US-- people who are working to destroy the entire capitalist system. They consider people like him as just talking heads, part of the establishment. They don't take him seriously as a Leftist, any more than they do President Obama. If there was a real Marxist-Leninist revolution in this country, people like Olbermann would be the first to be shot. Seriously. They view people like him as more dangerous than Rush Limbaugh because at least Rush is honest about who he is and where he stands. They consider "phony Leftists" as far worse because they lie and make people think they oppose capitalism when they actually try to reform it so it will survive longer. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
