Blago tried to defend himself today ... saying he was innocent. But he has been convicted. He is gone. He is no longer Governor. The final vote was 59 - 0. I think he clearly deserved it-- if for nothing else, for being so foolish and such a big-mouth. What amazes me is not that he would say those things but that he would say them when he had to know-- or should have known-- he was under investigation and probably being recorded. Although he made some very bad comments on the phone that was bugged he never actually got any bribe nor did he get any favors. The man he did appoint to the senate finally was seated by the democrats after a public spectical of the senate policeman forcibly keeping a 78 year old black man out of the senate floor.
