I don't see it that way. Seems to me that he's trying to figure things out. It also seems that at least he's allowing the Lord to be part of his life. Not sure what type of theropist he has! Needs to have one that's bible based.

I agree with Joe.

He seems to be trying to justify things.

I feel for his wife. He still has problems. They both need prayer.

There is a serious problem with this thread. When I am in townhall and move my mouse over it , I immediately got the video (that does not run there) and cannot click into the thread. I have to come in through active topics. I am using Firefox latest and windows.

Now about the video.

1)First the things he says. Are you gay? Then Ted responds with what psychologist opinions. Hey I don't need Psychologist opinions to know if I am Homosexual.

2)What he doesn't say. I am not Homosexual. I was but but the power of God I am not anymore. I kept waiting for that but it never came.

3)The way he responds in this interview is very feminine. Typically we see this in homosexual men.

Joe, all threads have a sneak peek feature that is activated by running the mouse over it.

That's probably because you never committed homosexual acts or ever wanted to. Ted is trying to sort out very complex things in his life. He needs lots of prayer.

People do not wake up one morning and decide they are homosexual, and neither do they wake up one morning and decide they are no longer "that way." That would be nice if it was like that, but it isn't.

Gay people can stop practicing gay sex and with God's power they may even stop having the desire for gay sex-- but they remain "gay" in many aspects of their thinking. Not all "gay" thinking has to do with sinful things. Being "gay" has to do with many aspects of our personality, not only sexual matters.

I've known many very masculine-acting and masculine-talking gay men. Most bisexuals can't be distinguished from heterosexuals by their mannerisms. There are also many very feminine lesbians. Many homosexual men are not feminine at all. Of course it is difficult to know this because you wouldn't be able to pick them out of a crowd. Contrary to what some people think, even gays can't always tell. They can sense it better than straights can, but they can be fooled. There are feminine men who are completely straight. That's one of the problems with stereotyping people.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

You don't have to run the mouse over it to have it open. It must be something about Firefox. I am having the same problem. I keep my mouse as far away from the thread as possible, but the Townhall main page soon redirects to the video anyway. And going back doesn't help one bit. It just jumps right back to the video immediately.

This is so true. I have a relative who is a gay male. He has been told that it is obvious that he is gay. But you would never guess in a million years that his former boyfriend is gay. He is a very rough type, quick to blow his stack, and not at all afraid to get into a fistfight. Yet when they were together, it was my relative that ruled the roost.

Stan! TY for running this clip from the interview! I dont have Cable so i just saw Oprahs interveiw. I havnt seen this Larry Show with Ted Haggard at all.

Stan asks the question-'Is ThIS guy acting so gay on this?'. I think u mean is he acting gay on Larry King and ussally not acting gay at other interviews? Or Acting gay and we all just noticed? Was he gay acting when he preached?

Is this guy gay? Is he not straight YET??

Well he isnt acting! He is being who he is which the church does not want.

You have to act straight or tell everyone your straight if u call yourself a christian or they wont take u seriously!!!!!!!

You have to be Complete if u would presume to share the Gospel. Everything on the list has to be checked off! You have to be perfect if u want to share what Christ has done for you!! You must be unbroken. Everything snapped together without one unalignment. You have to be WHOLE. You better be flawless. Clean. and

PURE if you need to share your testimony... UNLESS you are heterosexual.

That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.

I can understand why you have this opinion, because you have probably experienced those kinds of attitudes. But of course you know that God's kingdom is for broken people -- and those who have been broken and patched back together, especially those with with the scars still showing, are the most effective sharers of the Gospel. Don't take your gospel to the "saints," take it to the sinners.

Stan asked about children that u can tell are probly gay.

I was the sissy that played jumprope with all the girls in school. I was the little fruitcake that played dolls with my little sister. I was the little pansy who dressed up my G.I. Joe as a Barbie.

Everyone could tell where I was headed but pretended not to notice.

Hi Parade,

Glad to see you here. We've missed you.

As you know, there are all kinds of gays just like there are of "straights."

I was just the opposite of you-- I loved playing with the other guys, and I played rough and loved sports and all the guy stuff. But I knew some "sissies" at my school and I remember being attracted to them (I mean as friends) and being protective of them against the bullies.

Hi John317!

Thanku for sayimg hello to me.

yes there is many kinds of gays. I myself am very burly looking with a big bushy brown handlebar mustache and am attracted to softer men. I am not a sissy anymore cause I have grown into my masculinity. I am emotionally attracted tonstrong woman (as friends).

I was never into sports.

God bless u!

yes there is many kinds of gays.

Yes, that is for sure. I have known many who were as masculine as Rock Hudson and had absolutely nothing feminine about them.

This goes to the issue of whether the former pastor Ted is acting gay or not in that interview with Larry King. I mean, how many would even notice "that" about him if he hadn't told everyone about his relations with that guy? I suspect only some gay people would have had any suspicions, and even they couldn't be sure.

I've been in situations where people were talking in front of me about a co-worker that everyone was sure was a "faggot." It was in a job where it wouldn't have been a good idea for a man to let it be known he was gay. He probably wouldn't be fired, at least for a while, but his life could be made very miserable if it was known. A lesbian is different. They can get away with being gay when a man may not be able to. It was strange, though, because while this co-worker wasn't gay, I of course was. I would tell them, "Who cares whether he's gay or not? So what? Doesn't he have a right to be treated the same as anyone else, anyway?" It was not a popular thing to say, and they would keep making their snide remarks about gay men. It was obvious what I would have been in for if I had told them that I was gay.

I went the other way. When I reached my upper teen years I became confused about my gender and felt I was a woman in a man's body. I still have gender dysphoria-- I expect I always will have-- but I feel that God is helping me deal with it. I'm far better off that way than I was four years ago.

I see women just as "friends", whether "strong" or not.

I was heavy into track, wrestling and baseball. When I went to public high school, I had to give up being on the track team because all the meets were held on the Sabbath.

I felt like I was born to play baseball.

I have very good gaydar that can pick out gay men in a crowd. If not gay at least some what divorced from their own masculinity(alot of that going around).

Sometimes its the way they walk into a room or when they lose inihibitions thru booze or get too 'comfortable' and let their guard down in a given situation. Buts its mostly in the eyes. The way a man steal glances at other men. And BTW I know there is a differences between sizing up a guy and checking a guy out. You can watch men to see if they are gay.

I have very beautiful green eyes that woman always comment on. I see men look at my eyes and u can see they are straight. But when yoou see a man look INTO your eyes.....Gaydar goes off.

...reminds me of something

Years ago growing up in farm land I partied with kegs and pot with a group of teens on and off for many years long before I came out as gay. You dont tell the church you are gay needing help and you definatly dont tell the heathens in cowboyland that you hang with you are gay either. You get a girlfriend and pretend! And one of rthe guys i hung with was named James and James was straight as can be. Went thru alot of girls and a few marriages as an adult.

I moved back from the San Francisco area in my late 30's to where I grew up. Now a Christian man away from my lover of 10 years. Back to my church I went to as a youth(who still dont accept me till i marry a girl to Prooooooooooooooooooove im STRAIGHT/SAVED now).

One day i knocked on my brothers door in town and my sister in law invited me in and I saw JAMES for the first time in years. He looked into my eyes when our eyes met. Freaked me out! After he left my sister in law was kinda freaked out by him cause prior to me getting there he told her that him and his wife were swinging and having sex on a religiouse level.Including bisexualty. I wasnt imagining James looking into my eyes!

I as a christian celibate gay man get nervouse and dont let myself get close to a guy.

Cause when i see he is attracted to me -I want to do what i used to do which is to make a pass at him. And I am scared of myself so i run away. I had to do it on more than one occasion at church. And many occasions at work ( at a truckstop ).

Bette Midler when she was touring with the Harlots would always say to her back up singers wearily "please stay vertical!" thats my motto

I completely understand. You don't trust yourself. That is probably a good thing. I know better than to trust myself too.

I have non-Christian friends who don't understand that. They don't know why I just don't do whatever I (or rather the "old man" in me) feels like doing. They don't view those things as sinful or wrong.

I'm at the point where I'm able to resist those temptations, but I know that it's because of the Holy Spirit in me and not because of my will power. I'm like you-- I don't trust me; I trust God and Christ to keep me; and He has for almost 4 years now. I've learned to take it one day, and sometimes even one hour or one minute, at a time.
