Narcah Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 What shall I do with it? I didn't want to leave it behind and let some poor soul become drunk with it, so, it's in my truck. What's the most creative way to dispose of it? Quote -Jason Youtube.com/narcah
Dr. Shane Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Dump it down the drain and recycle the containers. It doesn't get much simpler than that. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Woody Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 First of all ... pray about it. No on second thought .... don't give it another thought. If one of the members should come by and see it in your truck ... you could be in BIG trouble. No. This calls for decisive action. Go and give it to your neighbor. I hear that beer is the best thing to kill gophers. Tell you neighbor that this beer is to be used ONLY for gophers. But ... it would be a sin to waste our natural resourses during these hard economic conditions. So, don't waste it. But, if you don't like my suggestion ... PLEASE do not do as Shane has suggested and recycle. Give them to your neighbor. If a member sees you recycling beer cans ... he may report you. Okay ... perhaps there is just a hint of tic in this comment. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Beryl Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Quote: it would be a sin to waste our natural resourses during these hard economic conditions Follow Redwood's advice if you MUST, but, first of all check out what God wants you to do. "Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbours," Habakkuk 2:15. There is only one place for alcohol -- and that is down the sewer. "Woe to those who rise early in the morning to run after their drinks, who stay up late at night till they are inflamed with wine." Isaiah 5:11. I would not want to be responsible to God for having given alcohol to a neighbour (or anyone else). Beryl Quote "Grace is God doing for us, in us and through us that which He requires of us but which is impossible for us to do in or for ourselves." But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12:9.

Neil D Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 "found a CASE of beer"??? Hmmmmmmm.....very interesting.... Well, definately don't want it to be drunk by humans.... So, as one person said, use it to fertilize your lawn.... Or use it to make bread. [the alcohol evaporates off.] or use it to catch and drown the slugs and snails in your garden.... Or use it to wash your pillowcases in it This may be an old wives tale, but apparently the nutty smell of hops helps you fall asleep. If you’re an insomniac, try washing a pillowcase in beer and you may just get to the land of nod sooner than you think. Or you can soak your feet in it. [given the middle east "ultimate insult" ] If you’ve had a hard day at work, a cold beer isn’t just good for your spirits. Those tired, aching feet can be revived by a beer foot-bath. Please, don’t be tempted to drink the contents afterwards…I’ll never do that again. Now while I don't think it will attract honey bees, you can use it as a bee attractor. I really don’t like thoese meat bees and wasps, especially at barbecues and get-togethers in the park or back yard. So, an hour before the event is due to kick off, place some small containers of beer around the perimeter of the yard. The sugar and smell will attract the bees and they’ll be happy enough around the beer while you enjoy your shindig bee-free. Polish your gold jewelry [i know, you just have all thise stuff lying around...] Don’t bother buying expensive store-bought cleaners. Drop your rings and other trinkets into a dish of beer, then remove and polish to a beautiful sheen using a dry cloth. Stain removal Something nasty on your carpet? Maybe a red wine stain? Well, a light beer will help pull that stain out. Sometimes a little club soda first will also help. Then use a regular carpet steam cleaner after to lift out the liquid and the smell. You can also make a killer meat-tenderizing marinade, I am told. Some have told me that they have used soda in the past to help soften a steak before putting it on the grill. But that was sweet, too sweet for me. Now, they use a good beer or lager, and sometimes a stout if they are feeling the need for some hearty flavor. The beer will really help soften the meat, add a distinctive taste, and it’s way better than those chemical tenderizers. This would be for those "Private" parties in which you don't want your SDA friends along.... You can use it to revive wooden furniture. You are gonna have to make the beer flat, so you may have to opened a few beers and let them set for 24 hours Well, flat beer makes a great wood reviver. Just dampen a microfiber cloth with your flat beer, then rub gently into your furniture It will give it a polish and bring back some color. As your girlfriend/wife if she could use it to make the easy hair highligher. It gives your lovely locks that sun-kissed glow. Soak you hair in beer and then lay in the sun. It will pull out terrific highlight and make you smell deliciously hoppy! (Alternately, wash the beer out of you’d rather smell like a normal person). Beer is also a handy hair conditioner. Do this on Friday to see what kind of comments you get on Sabbath.... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw

Woody Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Quote: "Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbours," Habakkuk 2:15. Beryl. May I respectfully point out that this was a 'conditional' instruction. God was referring to giving it to thy neighbor for the purpose of drinking it. I was referring to giving it to thy neighbor for the purpose of killing gophers. And I am sure our loving God would approve of that purpose. We should be sharing all with our neighbors. Robert Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 The Children of Israel were allowed to drink wine in moderation. So I wouldn't exactly call drinking a sin, but it's better to leave it alone due to abuses that can lead to alcoholism. Rob Quote

Narcah Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 Most of these were great ideas, I just don't understand if a meat tenderizer works on gluten? I thought about giving it to my grumpy drunk neighbours as a peace offering, but those coals of fire would probably start a forest fire. I thought about slipping it under my SDA missionary in-laws seat in their van, but thought better of it as misunderstandings like that can cause huge troubles. See forest fire above. They're in the mission field right now and are coming back in April. In the end I did a quick perimeter check for fellow church members coming to visit and hid it at the bottom of the trash can. aldona Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 If I found a full case of beer, the options would be: 1. Use it for cooking. Beer makes wonderful batter for fried stuff such as fish and chips. The alcohol will all evaporate at that temperature. 2. Wash my hair in it. I've heard that beer is a great hair conditioner. 3. Do the same as what I do if a business contact who does not know me well gives me a bottle of wine...give it to one of my work colleagues who I know only ever has one drink with a meal, even at the office Christmas party, and nobody has ever seen him even slightly tipsy. (Or, having just driven through some of the areas of our state which have been ravaged by forest fires...) 4. Go down to wherever the fire fighters that are fighting the forest fires have their rest & refreshments, and give it all to them. They have certainly earned it. (and it will help dull some of the gruesome scenes in their minds). Or give it to those who have lost their homes. As it says in Proverbs 31:6,7 - "Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more." aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music?
